I am only giving 4 stars because my shrimp and grits were so fantastic. Gumbo was good also. Service was horrendous. We were never asked about dessert or boxes to take our remaining food. Refills on drinks non-existent. Dirty dishes remained on the table.

Food was delicious and all cooked fresh, The waitress Lilly was so friendly and helpful, we will definitely go back again and would recommend it to anyone, I’m looking forward to trying the other dishes !!!!!

Not terrible but not impressive. Jambalaya should be served over rice not engulfed in rice. A ramekin of rice in a wide bowl and ladle jambalaya, red beans or gumbo overtop. Also seemed the “heat” level was just heat and no flavor with that heat. Be careful with what heat level you choose. Cayenne is strong. Also more creole than cajun with the odd tomato in it. The boudin is so over powered by a strong taste of sage. Not even the correct spices. They are more like fried stuffing balls instead of boudin balls. Those two (jambalaya and boudin balls) aren’t terrible. And to those unknowing, okay. The catfish filets, hushpuppies, fries and fried okra are awesome! And the coleslaw is better than most bbq places. My husband asked for a mango margarita and he liked it.

I want to preface this with I am NOT a picky eater and rarely have many bad things to say. Maybe we went on a bad night.

In town to visit ucm. This was different and close to hotel. Boasted a Louisiana/cajun menu. Fried pickles and okra to start. Didnt pay attention on menu that pickles were sweet pickles(which i dont care for) but they worked with the bit of spice to the breading. They were obviously breaded there as well. Family said okra was very good also. I had the catfish with regular fries and sweet potato fries. My family likes the spice but me not so much so I was happy the catfish breading was just normal and not spicy. Regular fries had a bit of pepper kick I wasn’t expecting but good. 2 in our group did the 1/2 plate options because they couldnt decide. Homemade chips were perfect. Triple decker club was massive-real turkey breast chunks-not a cold cut. Husband loved the gumbo. He also ate all of his bread pudding before I could get a taste. Beignets were ok. Not like what I’ve had in new Orleans but then again we are above sea level here so maybe that’s the difference . Great service. Priced appropriately. Would return

First time I went here I ordered out and food was great, second and third time the food had absolutely no flavor. I went in the restaurant, which is dark, got 3 different dishes and none of it had any type of flavor. The mashed potatoes literally were just mashed plain potatoes, broccoli was just boiled broccoli, meatloaf was just overcooked burger patties with a weird ketchup on it, chicken fried chicken was decent but extremely greasy, the gravy just tasted like straight congealed flower, the Cajun pasta (or whatever it was) had no flavor what so ever. Literally nothing had flavor, not even salt or pepper, I walked out saying I wasn’t paying for it 2-3 bites in.

Nice place, waitress was super friendly. Boudain balls were excellent. I got the gumbo, the roux was a little dark for me didn’t care for it. My husband got the zydeco’s pasta which was really good. My daughter got the catfish that was good. My son got a bbq cheeseburger that he enjoyed. I’d go here again

Good food. The fried green tomatoes and fried pickle appetizers were great. The gator tail appetizer was good. The grandkids loved the burgers and they were huge. The Etouffee was very bland. Even though my husband ordered the spicy Etouffee, it lacked flavor and heat. My favorite thing about Zydeco’s is the variety of food.
