The food was delicious. The serving sizes were large and everyone at our table got exactly what they wanted and more! Great location and a must try for people visiting Waverly.

I don’t want to give a bad review because I love your pizza. I’ve been eating it since I was a kid. Tonight we ordered a captain and the crust was different, thicker and not crunchy at the end. I hope this was a one time thing. I love the old crust.

First time eating here and was greatly disappointed as I had heard so many good things about this place. We ordered the fried mushrooms and onion rings. First of all the batter was so thick it was hard to even taste the onion. Also the batter was extremely salty and very greasy. The crust on the pizza was nit good. The pizza had barely any sauce. There were a lot of toppings, but it was actually overkill. Where you picked up a slice the toppings would fall off. Too many toppings for the crust. The Reuben was ok. Was disappointed that the corned beef was “packaged lunch meat” type. Spent $60 for this meal that all 4 of us agreed was not good.

First experience eating here was was not the greatest.. left pretty disappointed and unsatisfied. My daughter ordered a cheese pizza boat, which has always to me and everyone I know us pizza on a French bread/ garlic bread.. so to our surprise it showed up as sauce and cheese in a dish. So i asked for a cheese pizza instead cuz we didn’t know that pizza boat ment dish… waitress apologized and said she should have told us…. My pizza was a little over cooked and I tasted burnt crust with every bite. Would have been okay if not burnt bottom.. . and to top it off I was still charged for the small amount of cheese and sauce in the dish that we didn’t eat. So needless to say I took it home for the animals since I had to pay for it.. . Definitely need to change their wording in the Menu to pizza in a dish and pizza boat. Waste of $7.00. Might try the place again someday but not anytime soon… photos is pictures of what I paid $7 for! Which to me is crazy!

Today was our first time to Z’s Pizza and diner in Waverly, Iowa. It was okay, the menu was kind of small if you’re looking for something besides pizza. They did have a decent list of sandwiches as well as sides. Our waitress was very nice and did a good job.

We have recently relocated to IA, via SC. Any new area that I am in, I need to find best pizza, wings and Phillies. To say I was excited for the opening of Zs, would be a great understatement. I had read all the reviews of the waterloo location. I even waited 2 weeks before going; hoping they would be able to work through, all of the roadbumps that come along with opening a new restaurant. Upon entry, there were 5 girls standing at the end of the bar, none were particularly friendly or offered the bare-mininium smile. Once we were greeted by the bartender(?) She was very engaging; and wearing an amazing sweatshirt. The meal itself consisted of two items: 1 large pep and sausage pie. And, a Reuben sandwich with fries. The reuben was good, but for the price, no where near enough meat. Now the pizza… the flavors were amazing. However, the execution was lacking. It had wayyyy too much cheese, to cook properly. Causing crust to begin burning, and the middle of pizza, to be severely undercooked. Will give another shot later.

The pizza was delicious! We do miss the original Z’s extensive menu. And the lack of parking is a problem. If lucky, a curbside space will be available. Otherwise. FAREWAY’s lot across the street???

Very good pizza and the best cheese curds ever! Cozy atmosphere and family-friendly. Eat at the bar or find seating at one of the tables or booths. You will want to come back after eating here.

Excellent food and excellent service. Only reason I knocked it down to 4 stars is its kind of small. I wouldn’t go there on a weekend with a large group.

This has become our favorite place to eat. OMG the pizza can’t be beat. Everything else we’ve had was so good. But hard to get past ordering pizza every time!
