Cornbread Mix Bake at Home: Cornbread Mix Makes 1 tray of cornbread, approx. 5¾ ” x 7¾ “, and bakes up about 1½ ” in height. What you will need: 2 Large Eggs ½ Cup Oil ½ Cup Water 1. Preheated oven to 335º-350º F 2. Whisk together eggs, oil, and water. 3. Add Cornbread mix, and mix until smooth 4. Pour batter back into black tray. 5. Bake in preheated 335º-350º F oven for approximately 30 minutes, or until toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, and top is golden brown. Enjoy! Zippy’s Pancake Mix 2 pounds Preparation: 1 Bag of Zippy’s Pancake Mix (16oz) 2 Cups Cold Water (16 oz) 1. Empty the contents of the entire bag of powdered mix into a mixing bowl. 2. Oxtail soup was ono. Good portion and flavor. It was unexpectedly light for me. I didn’t feel over stuffed after finishing the bowl and all the soup. I’m interested in trying the turkey neck one next time. Service was pretty quick also. However, there didn’t seem to be that many customers when I visited (Wednesday 3pm).

We live equally between Waipio and Waipahu zippy’s but prefer the Waipahu location because it’s brighter/cleaner, is staffed with some of the nicest workers and has good-sized parking stalls that you don’t feel worried about squeezing into. The daily specials are supposed to end at 9:30 or when they run out, but a couple times we tried ordering about 5-10 minutes after and the servers/cooks are nice enough to make it happen. One of our favorites is the Won Ton soup (not the Won Ton min… no need the noodles) and if you order double garnishes for extra egg, choi sum, green onion and char siu, it’s only a whopping $0.70 more!!!

Dine out only due to Covid however prior co Covid great place to drop in for a snack or a full meal. Plenty of space inside and outside. Staff is fast courteous and helpful. No matter what I ordered it was good. One menu Item I always enjoyed was the Orange Blast. An orange juice item that is way better tasting than any soda!

Everytime we try to put in a phone order for the Specials that they have on “Any” particular day they always say they “ran out” and this is at 11:00 am. How can you run out of the specials and it’s not even lunch time yet.

I know that each location may do things s little different from one another but it does make for a unpleasant surprise when your expectation from one location isn’t meet by another. I ordered my usual late night chili cheese fries snack and although the taste was spot on, the portion wasn’t quite as substantial as what I’m used to getting from other locations. I’d guess it was about a 1/4 to a 1/3 less than my normal.

What I also Love is their Wide Variety of dishes they have on their menu,their Lilikoi Juice,ZIP Pack,their Ox tail soup is a Home Run to delicious World!,Nice Family environment and Clean restrooms,Zippy’s Waipahu is simply and honestly a Great all around restaurant,that’s why Locals and Strangers Love every one of visit their Visits! Zippy’s in my opinion always has great food. Prices are a bit on the higher side but non the less always good food! My husband and I just had dinner there last night and I ordered the Belgian Waffle combo. When our order came, my waffle was kinda cold, butter wasn’t melting, I flagged down our waiteress to kindly ask her if she would just heat my waffle a little in the microwave and I would be totally fine with that. She apologized, took my waffle and said she would be right back. When she returned she actually brought me back a freshly made waffle that was nice and hot! I was surprised! She really didn’t need to do that but she went above and beyond to make sure I was good! I graciously thanked her for going out of her way and she said it was her pleasure. Small gestures like that is what customer service is all about. I wish I had written down her name but I forgot to because I was nicely surprised!

This review is only for covid-19 times. The service was very slow even though I was the only one in there. The stuff was friendly enough with masks on. They got four stars because the place was clean and the staff were wearing protective gears. I even saw someone come by to spray disinfectant. They got one star less because of the slow service.
