A local gem, family-run for 80 years according to a local. Went twice with a group, and the only thing we’d skip in the future is the brisket. Chopped pork sandwich is unlike any I’ve had (chunky, not pulled, and with coleslaw plus spicy sauce). Several sides are Southern staples with a twist, e.g., fried corn, spicy stewed cabbage, or Old Bay fries. Great, down-to-Earth spot.

Ordered the catfish, fried ocra, and mac n cheese and it was awesome! Really want to try their BBQ before I leave town.

Well, it didn’t look like what I expected, but the food lived up to the reviews! Set in an old gas station in town, you order at the window and wait around on basic tables and chairs. It’s a busy place with people coming and going to pick up orders, so we knew the food would be good! And it was. I ordered the “fried corn” thinking it would be fried but it seemed like cooked kernel corn with lots of hot sauce!

The people feel like family. Every dish is great. I visit Yank’s anytime I’m in town. I highly recommend it. The spicy barbecue sauce works on all the meat choices.

Best of Blytheville and Mississippi County: not only for barbecue, but also catfish! Certainly the most affordable BBQ/fried catfish place around. Well worth the wait while they fry it up fresh! Rib tips the most popular dish but don’t miss out on the fish (pass on the coleslaw: too wet and sloppy). Closes early.

Food was pretty good, I’ve had better. They were out of brisket, got rib tips and ribs. Some of the tips were tough, the ribs were not fall of the bone but tasted okay with the BBQ sauce. Did not like the baked beans or corn it was soggy.

So, what happened to Yank’s? Here’s my truth: I ordered a chopped barbecue sandwich with fries. My fries were old and cold and very thin! And my sandwich tasted old too. I wanted my money back but didn’t want to make a scene. The size of the to-go containers shrunk about 30%. That cuts back on the food, you know. I want the old Yank’s back. I don’t even see the older, kind gentleman that used to sit outside. That sweet man was Yank’s to me. And, what happened to service with a smile? I need answers.

WOW!! I love bbq , and am somewhat picky on my bbq . However , on our way to Missouri, my family and I stopped in Blytheville for lunch and decided to eat at Yanks. This is without a doubt one of the best (if not the absolute best ) bbq sandwiches I have ever eaten. Definitely recommend this place !
