Although the restaurant is very nice, it is way too small, just like the restaurants in Japan . I bet that you might have to wait a long time to get in if you arrive during peak time.

Upon a visit to Pismo beach, we came across this wonderful gem of a restaurant.

Decent Japanese restaurant near downtown Pismo beach. Food overall was good. Unagi was amazing. Albacore roll wasn’t out favorite as the combination of flavors didn’t blend well for us. Spicy rolls weren’t spicy but quality of fish was good. A bit on expensive side – sushi is generally expensive..

Somewhat disappointing! Not as authentic as we had expected, a bit fusion. The restaurant smelled kind of greasy and the floor was kind of sticky. Wish it was cleaner. Service staff was friendly and attentive. The quality of sashimi was average and so was the flavors.

Some places just aren’t meant for takeout. We arrived right at the listed pickup time (exactly an hour after the order was placed) and the food was ready, although we were waiting for them to add two sides. The bags barely felt warm at all when we picked them up, and when we got home with the food 10 minutes later, it was completely room temperature. They must have made the order early and never notified us. Also, and most importantly, there was no soy sauce in the bags for our sushi orders. So we had to eat everything dry without soy sauce. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect there to be soy sauce in a takeout sushi order, which is why we didn’t ask to confirm when we picked up. The food was still good, and this seemed like a really good place to dine in, but I would not recommend ordering takeout.

Loved it! Best sushi experience that I’ve had in a long time. Fresh fish, beautiful flavors. Also, order the fresh wasabi, worth the $3 extra. Outdoor seating area is nice for those that aren’t yet comfortable being indoors. Will definitely be back soon!

My fiancé and I LOVE sushi, it’s our favorite food for date night and we’ve been all over for sushi. This is the ONLY place we’ll ever go for sushi again. The flavors were bright and bold, you could tell how fresh the fish was with every bite. The chefs were fun and kind, 5 star food and a very relaxed vibe. I could go on and on, just go for yourself, you will 1000% not regret it!!!

Please do not waste your money on this place! My takeout order was missing an item, the gyoza was also freezing cold, and our sushi rolls did not have the avocado as they were supposed to! The staff is also VERY mean! They said that I shouldn’t “expect perfection when I order their take out.” Everyone should order from either Sushi 805 or Yanagi Sushi instead!
