This place was great! Located in the Vail village, it had a great atmosphere with great service. The food was amazing. It was definitely worth the visit. We tried the Miso soup, which was the best I’ve ever had, pork dumplings, California rolls, hammer head roll volcano style, and one other I can’t remember the name of. All were great!

We were able to get in last minute and thank goodness. Our expectations were measured by both host and wait staff because of how busy they were… But that is a mark of a great business. They were always just ahead of time in asking what new drink we needed or how the food was. Impeccable. The sashimi was insane and the rolls were incredible. One of our best if not best meals in Vail.

This was a very nice sushi place and very calming and relaxing. The only problem was that everything was extremely overpriced, let me give you some examples. We asked the waitress what they had for kids drinks and she suggested this Japanese Soda so we ordered it, they charged us $8 for a 6.7 oz soda that was full of sugar and extremely unhealthy. Another example is we ordered the Udon Noodles and it was just ordinary Udon noodles with fried veggies, that ended being $38 because we added chicken and that was an extra $12. We also ordered the beef skewers and I wanted some extra teriyaki sauce, they charged us $2 extra for that. Let’s also just say that this place for big family because we where a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids) and the total with taxes and tip came out to be $240. Do not recommend this place.

We got served chipped cups and there was a foul smell the moment we entered the restaurant. That smell was intense and it smelled like they mopped with dirty water or a moldy mop. No matter what the reason, it was inexcusable for a restaurant.

I booked Yama having been let down by Matsuhisa – a place that I had previously visited 9yrs ago. I can honestly say that we were absolutely thrilled by the food and just as importantly the staff at Yama. Philippe was so informative, knowledgable and helpful making our evening even more special. Thoroughly recommend – THE best sushi house in Vail…

Juan, Luke, and Patrick made the evening awesome. They are on staff at Yama Sushi and just really clicked in making the evening awesome. When your staff does that, it is a great start to an absolutely beautiful time at the sushi bar. The food was the best sushi I have ever had (and I have eaten a lot of it). The fish was melt in your mouth so damn good. The flavor profiles each dish brought forth was new and just really unexpectedly good. The unfiltered sake really something to behold. I am glad it takes some effort to get to Vail or eating at Yama Sushi could end up being an expensive habit! We shall return!

We were recommended this place so ate here for dinner. The sushi was really good, it just seemed like everything we ordered was really spicy. The ambiance and service were very nice, and the prices weren’t too crazy for being in Vail. Would recommend!

LA chic meets Vail casual with creativity and great dishes! Some of the best freshwater eel I’ve ever had and very creative omakase. Be sure to have a reservation. They book up fast. We waited 30 minutes for the sushi bar and it was worth the wait. Don’t miss out on the sake menu.

We called to order take out 1 minuet after they opened and were put and hold for 4 minuets and then were told, “We are too busy to do takeout.” We left and went to another sushi place called Joy Sushi, which had 10x better service and had our order ready in 10 minuets for half the price. The food was amazing. 0/10 would not recommend, don’t come here
