We 2 people ate about $100. All good is warm and comforting for me. I like the sukiyaki udon. The unagi Don (for 2) is great but not the best. You can find some other better unagi Don in New York City.

Sun-chan is at the top of my best nyc restaurant list. Their Eel Rice is really the best eel rice I’ve had in nyc. It’s a super small and tight restaurant but the staff works hard and fast. Order anything from the menu except sushi and yakitori. They are not as impressive. The rest of the menu is to die for.

I really wanted to like this place but the food can be pretty hit or miss. Ordered a sushi roll before with raw tuna that did not smell or taste fresh. The unagi rice pot is solid though. Service is usually slow & occasionally comes with poor attitude. You can find better options in this neighborhood.

Nagoya’s eel is nice and the only recommendation at this place. Taste of Yakitori is not stable, sometimes really good sometimes just ok. Sashimi so-so.

Just reminds me of a Chinese takeout place that serves Japanese food. The AC wasn’t really working and I paid over $100 and I wasn’t impressed. Their best dish was some type of hard chicken wings, which I did not like was the worst. The chicken yakitori was fine . The duck was hard and bad. This was on a Friday night

In my opinion, this is my neighborhood’s treasure. I don’t know any other restaurant that has such loyal customers, and deservedly so. They treat you like a mix of royalty and family.

Sun-Chan, an old restaurant near Columbia, has long been known for its Nagoya eel over rice, but a recent visit really disappointed me.

One of the best yakitori spots in the city. The unagi set is super nice, highly recommend. Staff was friendly and many options on the menu. Must try if you are looking for a yakitori spot!

I think this place has gone a little downhill food quality-wise (or maybe we just had a bad night). The food presentation, service, and vibe were fantastic as always. The salmon roll was chopped salmon, not whole salmon, and a little fishy tasting for a Saturday night when I would expect them to have their freshest fish on hand.
