Service was excellent, easy location, cool atmosphere. I got a breakfast burrito with a side of sour cream and guacamole. Cost was $16. The burrito was average at best. Not much flavor, luckily they had hot sauce to assist. The cheese wasn’t even melted. I would be willing to go back if I’m ever back in town but I would be trying lunch or dinner next time.

This place is a hidden gem in the NE Portland LLOYD DISTRICT. My chicken burrito was perfect so I had to order a 2nd one to go. Ingredients are fresh and it was delicious. Staff is friendly and happy it is a short walk from my residence. Be back again soon!

Stopped in for some lunch when I didn’t have time to make my own. The chicken burrito tasted amazing, the service was quick, and there was plenty of seating. Seems to be a popular place for lunch and I will be returning in the future!

Nice place for tacos and burritos. First time trying this restaurant today and happy to report the tacos are fresh and tasty. I ordered one taco of each meat offered; one pastor, one asada, and one carnitas. Each kind of meat was seasoned and cooked well and were served in two small fresh, soft, corn tortillas topped with fresh purple cabbage and cilantro with limes on the side to squeeze on top. They offer two salsas to accompany, both fire roasted, a tomato based salsa (the spicier of the two), and a tangy tomatillo salsa. Both salsas were delicious and a good compliment to the flavor of the tacos. These are great street style tacos. I also bought their fresh green juice and it was delicious. Service was fast and friendly and the place itself is clean and airy. I’m happy Xocalo is open in this area. It gives returning workers another lunch option from which to choose.

We had 4 tacos each: chicken, pastor, carnitas, and fish. The fish was like plastic and the other 3 were similar to dried cat food. The filling and the tortillas were all mixed up in complete disarray like it was thrown at the basket from across the room. One of the 2 baskets of tacos didn’t even have the right number of tortillas. There was a 40 pound case of raw chicken just hanging out at room temperature the entire time we were there that none of the employees seemed interested in doing anything with. Most of the employees were just staring at their phones except the one just gazing out the window like a house cat. I’ve had better service at the DMV. I bet I could find better food at one too.

Fantastic restaurants. We went there quite a few times on our trip. The tacos were delightful and the torta bread was delicious. The carne asada meat is just wonderful and the fish tacos are great. Prices are cheap and they service is pretty quick. I highly recommend going here.

The young lady working the counter was nice and I could tell she was trying hard to give her best service along with the guy who did his best to serve me my food with the salsa though he struggled with his English, but he did forget to give me napkins with my Torta, a notoriously messy dish.

I’d give this place less than one star if I could. I get it it’s kind of a rough area for drug use, but they wanted to charge $3 to go pee before I got on the train. Bought a taco for $4.50 because I had to go bad and didn’t even get my order before my train came. SMH.
