Great take-out experience from start to finish! The woman who took my order was very courteous and repeated the order back to me to ensure it’s accuracy, which I always appreciate. My husband picked up the food when they said it’d be ready and it arrived home still hot. Everything tasted amazing! My husband and I both got the fried chicken, while our friends got the meatloaf and fried flounder. The fried chicken was perfectly seasoned and juicy. The potato salad wasn’t swimming in mayo, which I prefer, and had a slightly vinegar taste I loved. My husband had the mac & cheese and mashed potatoes, which he really enjoyed. Would definitely recommend giving them a try!

Ordered takeout: Thursday June 8. Turkey Wings, DELICIOUS!! Mashed potatoes made to order (I didn’t want the rice that comes with it). Again, DELICIOUS! Whole Green beans cooked perfectly. Really appreciate the Great service!! Just made reservations for Father’s Day

Initially I was hesitate about this restaurant, because other “soul food” restaurants are not worth coming back. UNTIL “Wright Kind of Soul” was recommended to me and my family. Everything we ordered thus far is excellent, but the red snapper. The flavor is nice but not enough meat. Unfortunately I won’t order red snapper again. Cornbread is great with or without the syrup or honey not sure which is used. Smothered turkey wings, turkey chops, sticky wings, spicy wings, mac & cheese, candied yams, and peach cobbler (only thing I think the peaches can be cooked longer and more dough added). Hope more cake desserts to come on the menu. Ambience is quaint and it is very clean, bathroom is sanitized which is a plus. I can go on and on about their good food. Just know my family/friends will continue to patronize them. Keep up the heart and soul into the food.

I absolutely loved my experience while dining here earlier today. The food is spectacular, the service is top notch and very welcoming and the ambience puts me in the Wright kind of soul! And oh my god, that chicken! If you’re in the area, please come through and cast your lots here. You won’t walk away disappointed but instead you’ll walk away fat, full and happy!

The food was very good but that 24% surcharge sent us for a loop! And it was strange because we were the only people in the restaurant. Edit: Let me clarify, I’m not equating the surcharge with the restaurant being empty. My wording was misleading. The lack of others in the restaurant is a separate comment from the surcharge.

Found this place online, I’m very familiar with the location of the place, although I relocated and now live in the south jersey area, so I drove an hour and fourth mins to get there. It appeared that was a one man show, the same gentleman that seated my guest and I also served took our order and served us, after being there for about 30 mins another gentleman came out, we’ll I’ll just cut to the chase.. attitude from our waiter after he forgot to bring two items we ordered, my guest did not like her dish, ate none of it, then they brought out something else, again my guest was not at all happy, I tasted it and I agreed with her, it was awful, no taste, and absent of any flavor. Then when I received the check, they attempted to charge me for the un eaten meal. It was a bad experience all around, the young lady that came out gave attitude as well.. I will never go back to the place again.

I finally made it to Wright Kind of Soul and am kicking myself for waiting this long. My family and I enjoyed EVERYTHING that we ordered. The fried shrimp appetizer was on point crispy. The meals were full of flavor. But the cornbread was the star for me. I’ve found my new go to restaurant.
