Wormwood Menu – San Diego, CA

Type : Restaurant

Location : San Diego, CA

Wormwood welcomes you into a journey of the past, when poets, writers & painters made the Green Fairy their muse. Absinthe known as the Elixir of the gods was the symbol of a Bohemian time that inspired the world. From an unjust ban making it the scapegoat of France national alcohol problem to the legends around some of the most famous characters in history, there is no other spirit that is so misunderstood. At Wormwood we aim to introduce you to some of the best Absinthe currently available, relate some the best of counts around the golden exhalation and take your palette into an unique journey.

So much flavour in each dish…my wife and I had an anniversary celebration there, ordered 4 food items and we were super full! Each dish was fantastic in its own way. Absent is not my thing, but cocktails were great too. Worth trying at least once.

Not to be missed. This is a delightful bistro/restaurant with an outdoor patio that gives you the vibes of Europe (France or Italy). The food is great for sharing and I suggest you do that because there are so many great dishes and you may want to try them all.

I was completely blown away by the experience here! Every single dish was delectable and well crafted. The flavors were all perfect on every single plate. The only complaint about the food was that there wasn’t more of it! Will definitely be back here again, this was hands down the best meal I’ve had in quite some time.

Wormwood didn’t wow me this time like it did on my first visit. It could be because on my first visit I started with the artichoke salad, which was out of this world. this time nothing wowed me until we got to the scallops which was our third course. What I really noticed in this visit was how tiny every serving was. We spent $165 and then went home and ate leftover pasta. It’s excellent food. The back patio is very nice and the music is much less obnoxious out there. Inside it’s way too loud. Definitely visit Wormwood, but be prepared to spend a lot for a small amount of excellent food.

Went here for our anniversary dinner and everything was exceptional. We were taken care of by Geoffrey who really knocked it out of the park. He actually curated a 7 course menu for us and everything was amazing from start to finish. Including the cocktails and wine selection. Some stand outs for me where the coquilles st jacques, tomates à l’ancienne, tartine aux oignons and the poulet à la moutarde. Management was also on their game making sure to touch the table and show the love, thanks Kadija for making sure our experience was amazing. Can’t wait to come back!

Great spot for a date night or to celebrate a special occasion. Loved all the food we had, especially the Wagyu tartare-very flavorful. Great cocktails and I suggest to experience their absinthe too, if you’re into that.

Certainly worthy of a Michelin star, the French cuisine is a masterpiece of flavor and combination, making a dinner a complete experience. There was a beet salad, stuffed mushrooms, scallop risotto, very tender chicken, and an absolute delicacy of truffle dark & white chocolate dessert-all of which were absolutely delicious & palatable. Their wine selection was exceptional, including a “by glass” section that is usually overlooked. Located in an intimate setting with an open kitchen view, it has an excellent ambiance and a great view of the chefs at work.

Lovely, intimate restaurant in North Park. The focus on Absinthe, both in the food, mixology, and multiple options for trying Absinthe is unique and fun with a group.
