WINE
Lambert De Seyssel Petit Royal
I used this lovely sparkling wine from the Savoie for my wedding celebration. Lucky for us, there is still some available. Get it while you can.
$9.75
Finca Torremilanos 2020 Montecastrillo Ribera Del Duero
This wine is 100% organic and biodynamically cultivated Tempranillo and the first winery in the area to be Demeter certified in 2015. The wine is medium bodied with rich black and blue fruit flavors and some oak aging in large barrels. I am always an advocate for Spanish wines, but Montecastrillo has become my new “go to” red wine.
$8.00
Jean Foillard 2019 Beaujolais-Villages
It always bothers me that Beaujolais has such a bad reputation. That blasted Beaujolais Nouveau ruins the whole category. I love Gamay and this wine from Jean Foillard is one of my favorites. An old style, hand crafted wine with lovely cherry flavors and a violet, lilac perfume. This beautiful bistro styled wine is served with a slight chill.
$9.75
Sineann 2019 Oregon Pinot Noir
We’ve finally received the newest vintage of our beloved private label, Sineann Pinot Noir. Perfect with almost any dish, this wine is curated from our good friend Peter Rosback of Sineann. The blend draws juice from four top-quality vineyards, all featured in Sineann’s single vineyard cuvées. There is an abundance of red and blueberry fruit and just a hint of cocoa powder in the finish.
$10.75
Swanson Vineyards 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon
A lovely wine from renowned Napa Valley winery is 86% Cabernet Sauvignon and 14% Merlot. This is an accessible wine with dark, black fruit, a little new oak and the remainder used barrel. The wine has a long, luxurious and silky finish. A real Cabernet crowd pleaser.
$11.50
Peyrassol 2021 La Croix Rosé Mediterranée IGP
This is a gem of a producer who now is making a more casual, quaffable wine using fruit from Côte de Provence as well as the Rhône Valley. The wine is a blend of primarily Cinsault and Grenache with a touch of Syrah and Carignan. Tart raspberry and strawberry fruit pairs with vegetable and fish and seafood dishes. It also pairs well with sunshine, warm weather and great friends.
$9.00
Lagar Da Condesa 2020 Albariño
Albariño is my “go to” white wine when Ohio days become hot and humid and I need a light quaffer. This version is a little less juicy, a little drier than others we have served. I adore the ripe peach, stone fruit flavors, coupled with a bracing mineralty. Love this wine to the 10th power.
$8.00
Sinskey 2019 Libration Sun-Earth L2
We always feel honored to offer any wines from Sinskey Vineyards. When we were asked to pour new wine, we jumped at the chance. Libration is a blend of Pinot Blanc and the noble Muscat Blanc à Petits Grains, all grown organically. This is a substantial white wine, full bodied with lush tropical flavors balanced by orange peel with a good dose of minerality. This is a spectacular wine!
$10.25
Diatom 2021 Chardonnay Santa Barbara
Made by renowned winemaker, Greg Brewer, this 100% stainless steel Chardonnay is absolutely fantastic. Diatom is a shortened version of diatomaceous earth, found in abundance in Santa Barbara county. The wine is lean, but not austere with flavors of juicy citrus and elements of green herbs.
$10.25
Scarpetta Prosecco
We bring Prosecco out for any excuse to celebrate. It’s simpler than Champagne and infinitely better than most sparkling wines costing much more. There is “meh” Prosecco and there is beautifully dry and aromatic Prosecco, this is the latter. Try it, you’ll love it.
$8.50
Clos Normand French Brut Hard Cider
There are few beverages more refreshing than dry, hard cider. This version from Normandy is both crisp and delicate, with lively dry fruit and a lovely bitter finish. Feeling adventurous? Try a Normand Kir, a lovely drink combining French cider, creme de cassis and a dash of Calvados.
$6.00
DINNER
Zucchini Fritters
These crispy little fritters do justice to the ubiquitous summer vegetable, zucchini. The fritters combine Greek flavors of
lemon, feta and oregano and are served with a wildly
colored, refreshing beet tzatziki. Absolutely sublime.
$9.00

This little two bite tartlet is filled with authentic ratatouille, a
blend of eggplant, summer squash, herbs, and garlic in all
their splendor. Garnished with whipped goat cheese, t
omato gastrique and tapenade.

Europe and Africa. The quail is marinated, grilled and served with a piquant, spicy chili sauce.

vegetable preparations. Two bao buns will be stuffed with
some sort of meat, pickled vegetable and sauce.

Figs, Pigs And Goats – Alert!
Figs are very hard to source this season, so we may not always
have this much beloved dish. Fresh figs are stuffed with goat
cheese and wrapped with Nueske’s bacon rubbed with cumin,
black pepper and brown sugar. Broiled to tasty perfection until
the bacon crisps, the goat cheese melts and the figs
caramelize. Drizzled with Italian saba, a velvety syrup
made from cooked grape must aged in wood barrels.
$14.00

tangle of riff-raff herbs. Served with fragrant
saffron rice to soak all the goodness.

Sadly, not as good as it use to be. Seemed short on staff which resulted in confusion & slow service. Menu offered standard fare with an uplift from local fruits and vegetables. One of the more expensive eateries in the village, but arguably not the best. If “upscale” is important to you then this would be the choice in YS.

Our service was lacking. As others have mentioned. We had a very early reservation so the place was empty. We were sat very quickly. Bourbon selection was nice. The problem was attention to glasses and my wife asked for more butter 4 times before they brought it. The food is good. Portions are very small. We spent over $120 and stopped for more food elsewhere an hour later.

It’s my favorite restaurant where I take my friends visiting me all the time. Food is excellent with being creative and locally sourced. Their food never failed me or my guests. The atmosphere is lively and artistic. There are always local artists’ exhibits on their walls. Make sure that you make a reservation before your visit. There is always a line of people waiting to be seated.

Huge disappointment! We arrived 15 minutes before our reservation only to be told it would be another 15-20 beyond our reservation time to get a table outside. We were happy to wait because we were not in a hurry. So we sat at the bar and tried to order a drink from the busy bartender. We eventually got our drinks, but they were not made correctly. Another party walked in and the bartender sent them outside…to take our table! Guess she knew we weren’t locals! 15 minutes later, the hostess offered us a table inside. We left and went down the street to another establishment that was more than happy to serve us. We will not be back to try the food at Winds Cafe!

It’s a very popular restaurant in the heart of town so get a reservation. The staff was great but keep in mind shortages so wait may be longer. Food was delicious and not overly big. Swordfish tender and flavorful with the garnish and veggie soufle light and tasty. Drinks were amazing! Spicy margarita and a sweet mule. A tad expensive for the local vibe but it’s a little posh-ish oasis in a sea of long hair and incense.

The Winds is the best restaurant in town! I’ve had the most delicious food every time I’ve eaten there. The staff is welcoming and the ambiance is like no other. I also love that they have local art up on the walls year round. The menu is seasonal so there’s always something new to try. I would 10/10 recommend this place to anyone that visits Yellow Springs!

It is a nice restaurant with great staff. The only reason I did not give 4 stars is because I do not like foo foo food. But to those that do it is a great restaurant.

I’m vegetarian and they have a few options but not a ton. There is definitely nothing wrong with this restaurant but I’ve been probably 5-6 times and the vegetarian options are just okay but not five stars. It is the nicest restaurant in Yellow Springs and perfectly fine. Lots of people love it so it might just be the vegetarian options are not amazing. No major complaints at all. Patio is especially great!
