This place is another hidden gem in Lake County. The service, the sense of urgency while maintaining quality standards and keeping the food tasty is truly remarkable. Why this place hasn’t had more reviews is beyond me. I had bought some really good food for my ex here when I was trying to save the relationship and let’s just say I’m glad the relationship is gone but I’m more than happy this place is open. If you love seafood and like great service then I suggest you go on down to Wiley’s!

Have ate here 2 dayz straight because my wife loved it so much. We are from Georgia fly to the Great lakes for my best friends graduation from the Navy boot camp. I found this sea food spot on google map. I was looking for something local didn’t want to eat anything I could find back home. We drove pass the small building two times before we found it. It’s a small building but just like someone else said in a review don’t let outside fool you out of a good meal. It’s not a big business by any means I think one of the cooks took our order but when it comes to taste I really recommend it.

The first time I tried them I had the Tilapia fish fry. I couldn’t really enjoy it because it was fried too hard. This week I’ve visited twice. I had the salmon boil with shrimp two days ago and today I have the catfish fish fry. This time I asked for it to be fried soft. I’ve enjoyed both visits this week. And enjoyed conversation with the Mrs of the business. Great customer service and this time my fried fish is perfection. Definitely will continue to support this local business. Thank you Wiley’s!!!

I’m not from Illinois nor am I familiar with the area. Anyway, we took a Lyft to come to this location, which has fairly nice reviews. We were looking forward to trying the food there. So we arrived, only to find that they’re not even open. I understand now why people were constantly asking if they’re open, because apparently they open whenever they feel like it. Things like that are the reason that businesses gain bad reputations.

Initially, I tried to give them the benefit of doubt, but today sealed the deal. They got the order wrong and instead of offering to replace it with the correct order, we were told “Sorry about that. Nothing that I can do.”. How do you mess up the order and then penalize the customer? Especially when you are charging $22/meal?

This hidden gem of a resturant needs to placed as a national landmark. Do not let the appearance from the outside or the simple decor, drive you away. The menu is super simple to not mess anything up. The core of this place is the simplistic but often hard to duplicate taste of the boil. From the time we sat down to the time we got our freshly made boils we only hade to wait about 20 minutes. Be sure to order the crab boil since I felt you get a great price for what you receive. No other place around can make the taste of this establishment

I looked this place up on line and I’m glad I did. The food was delicious and if I wasn’t so greedy it would have been a good portion. The young lady who took my order was very helpful; she knew it was my first time and helped me place my order.

We went there yesterday and the place seemed like a clean, small restaurant. The guy who served us seemed nice and had great customer service skills, so that’s the only reason that they get 2 stars. Other than that, the food was just ok, it was seasoned ok. The main issue is the Crab Boil. We paid $50 for a pan of Crab Boil and you would expect at least 1/2 food to be just that…crabs. Nope, what we got was easily 90-95% potatoes, sausage, corn, limes, and lemons, fillers in other words. I know restaurants do that with Crab Boils, but this was just ridiculous for the price. We might have had 3-4 crabs, if you put all the pieces together, if that. Like I said, the guy was more than a gentleman and the rest of the order, fish, shrimp, etc was well seasoned, but, the portions are not worth the money that was spent. It was my 1st time there and although I love supporting small businesses, I will not be returning here.
