Wilder Bakeshop and Espresso Menu – Chama, NM

Type : Coffee shop

Location : Chama, NM

Wilder Bakeshop is a traditional European Style bakery. We open our doors at 7am and start off with 200 freshly baked pastries made from scratch in-house each day. Our spread of sweet and savory pastries sells out everyday with folks making day trips from ABQ, Taos, Alamosa, Durango, Farmington, and Pagosa just to score a box or two of flakey croissants in a variety of forms and flavors in the hours after the local workforce comes through. We often sell out closer to noon despite our best efforts to keep the case full, so plan accordingly!
In addition to our wide pastry selection, we are a craft espresso bar serving Iconik Coffee Roasters from nearby Santa Fe. We strive to cultivate a space where all are welcome, and and offer free WiFi.

Based on 100 reviews, the restaurant has received a rating of 4.9 stars. Price

I don’t know what we were expecting when we pulled into Chama, NM, but this little gem was definitely not it. What a find. We ordered the quiche and bread pudding pastry and a couple coffees and everything was delicious. The coffee shop is designed perfectly and the gals are super friendly. Highly recommend getting up even earlier and having breakfast here before the train ride!

I am very sad. I have been living 20 minutes from this shop for a year and a half and I just discovered this treasure. I am sad because I am moving back to the East Coast and had the opportunity to enjoy this place as a regular, but I’ll have to live with having gone just once. I had a green chili quiche – not long after opening, so it was still nice and warm. The filling was great, but the crust was outstanding. I had a croissant – buttery, flaky, light, and very tasty. I also had a sticky roll – the sugary sauce was delicious, the roll had a perfect chew. And one more – I am not sure what it was called, but it was in the shape of a piece of thick bread with blueberries all over and I suppose a custard type texture. The corners were chewy and scrumptious and the middle was velvety and rich. Also, the coffee was great – I just had a black drip, but they have a serious espresso machine as well.

Sweet little shop we stopped in when passing through. They cannot do any drinks right now (5/26) due to an ongoing water issue but the fig and goat cheese pastry was worth stopping for. It was outstanding!

We were informed about “Wilder” from Colorado friends. On a whim we decided to venture into Chama from our small rental cabin in the area. What a gem and how lucky is Chama to have this business locally!!! We sadly didn’t have any of the baked goods but they looked divine. The breve latte and the chai latte’s were out of this world.

What a gem! The owner was absolutely lovely, and made the best chai I’ve ever had at an independent coffee shop. The pâtisseries were beautiful, and would rival any French bakery. Access is very easy, and the shop is immaculate
