Trout dip is a destination food!!!! The pita is buttery and lightly crisp and soft! We should have eaten more. The chicken pot pie was not a pie, but pot pie filling with a humongous biscuit on top. The filling / stew was kinda sweet. The biscuit was tasty but too big. Hubby got the fried fish ( kinda Long John Siver style). It was good and he liked the fries, but there is rarely a potato he doesn’t like! Oh, but Milo’s managed it! See that review.

The fish and chips entree was ok, and the beer was good. When I asked for water it was served warm with no ice at all, I had to ask for a cup of ice. The water tasted terrible anyway so I didn’t really end up drinking it. It was also strange to be carded as a senior citizen especially from the waitress who didn’t look old enough to drink or serve beer!

The service was great and our waitress was super friendly. Not only that, but the food was just as good. It was plenty empty when we had visited for lunch so our food came relatively quick. The trout dip was delicious and the hamburgers as well. Overall, a good choice to eat when visiting the area.

Came here after a long hike at the Blackwater Falls. The chicken pot pie really hit the spot, classic comforting food. Biscuit was really crispy and fluffy inside. The buffalo chicken Mac and cheese could have been more flavorful.

Young man host was great. The booth we were sitting at blew very cold air the entire visit. Wife and I ordered new york strips and potatoes. Ordered 2 mixed drinks and a water. Waitress returned to table because she forgot what wife ordered to drink. One drink was as described, the other drink was horrible. Steaks came out way over cooked and entirely too chared. Had to remind waitress about water, she had forgot. Then returned with water which had no ice. Waitress completely forgot about us, 20 minutes passed, she didn’t check back in on us or bring us the check. Wife had to go find her at the bar to ask for check and box, where she was sitting chatting with someone, in full conversation. No apology was given to us. $70+ check, would expect service and quality to be equivalent.

On a motorcycle trip from Philly, we found this gem nestled on their “Main Street”. I cannot say enough about how friendly, personable and just awesome the staff and patrons were. I tried to buy 2 T-shirts. Out of stock. Well- not only did Cindy offer me hers off her back, she mailed them to me when they came in. We hope to be back!

Was in Canaan for a weekend and hadn’t tried this place out so I figured why not give it a shot and I’m so glad I did. Awesome staff with great attitudes and are on top of it all the time. I had beef tips with rice and bell peppers as well as trout dip which both were phenomenal. Can’t wait to come back to Canaan and stop by here for some great food!
