Love love this place! Been here 3 times already when we come to alex city. The food is always good cooked right in front of you. I love the chicken wings and the country fried steak! Big portions so come hungry!! Also they have the cutest decor!
Moving on with Old Man River “Jim” Old man river
This is an old fashioned dinner but I had to stop in because of the name. I ordered biscuits and gravy with two eggs on the side. I I must say for a deep southern city the biscuits and gravy was not very good. There’s a big hotdog figurine close to door. The waitress said the hotdogs man’s name was Frank.

Went there and they gave me a 10% 1st responders discount then charged my credit card full price. For the money I don’t think it’s worth the cost. The hamburger was burnt, the bun was smashed portion was small.. 30 bucks for 2 burgers and fries no thank you.

stopped in on our way home from the nearby DeSoto caverns place looks like it was made from an old Waffle house location. We found it to be clean and staff friendly. our total was around $40 for four of us. a club, grill chs, 2chkn tenders and 4 drinks. portion sizes were good for a light lunch and priced appropriately.
