Was a good hour wait atleast, when the food finally did come, the 3 in our group who ordered medium rare ribeyes all received very well done and tough ribeyes. Ordered mushrooms and onions on the steak and got soggie battered and fried onion strips on it rather than actual caramelized onions. Baked potato looked good. All in all was not happy and ready to leave as soon as the food showed up and seen the shape it was in. Not good despite what I’ve heard

I have a dietary restriction and I modified my meal. When I got what I ordered I asked if that was 1/2 the amount they usually put on it and the waitress was very rude when she answered yes. Then she never came back for me to get a refill on my drink. She gave me a dirty look and had a bad attitude when you ask a question. The food was delicious but I hope I do not get her service again. It is not good when you don’t have good customer service skills. I often stop going to restaurants that have rude wait staff.

This place was an oasis amidst defunct restaurants. We received excellent service, the ambiance was welcoming, the drinks were cold, and the food was delicious. Their fried pickle fries might be the best I’ve ever had. Great experience, all around.

Coming from a big city, I’ve always had plenty of choices for food. I haven’t always found that in Iowa. Whiteys is an exception. It’s a small town dinner worthy of being featured on TV. The food is incredible and I drive over 30 minutes to come here just for the steak sandwich. I feel like I’ve found gold in Iowa and I encourage everyone to visit. It’s right off the highway, easy parking, and worth the trip!

Went on lunch did not get what I had originally ordered but I am not one to say anything… I ended up with open face beef sandwich on bread with gravy mashed potatoes and corn… it was pretty plain. A little too filling for my type of lunch. Waitress was nice but busy, bloody Mary had no kick and I got a double. One pickle one olive no spices… needs seasoning all around…

Worst service I’ve ever experienced. We should have walked out. It took over an hour to get burgers and salad. NEVER take children to this place and be sure you allow at least 2 hours for dining here. I wondered if they ran out of hamburger and had to run to the grocery store in Cedar Rapids before they could prepare our meal.
