I was there today and I do feel for the employees, it was hotter in there than it was outside and today was a high of 100 degrees . The food is tasty and the chicken is made fresh to order. But what I saw makes one think how many get sick after eating here . They all take turns ringing the register, and there was mostly credit card transactions while I was there , but then a man paid with a lot of change and bills. So the guy preparing the food , touches the cash / change , doesn’t wash his hands and goes back and touches the food boxes, tongs, ect. Then while that was going on the only last there today , coughed in her hands , are you serious ? Cough in your arm away from the food and go wash your hands. So then I see the one packing food then goes in the back and gets his cell phone and I’m sure that’s not sanitary and goes and handles more food. So if you get sick from here ever , you will know how and why. There should be one cashier and you don’t handle food . Also washing hands wasn’t down by any of them there, while I was in the establishment. They should be wearing gloves , and so no cross contamination, remove after touching food items that can’t be crossed .

I stopped in for a couple sides. I’ve always loved their chicken (kind of bland now) and fritters are best thing on menu.But I ordered cole slaw and Mac n cheese. The Cole slaw was so bland. It’s was like shaved purple cabbage with watered down Mayo. The Mac and cheese needed salt, pepper. Very bland. Never had a cheese sauce salt free. Avoid those sides if you can.

White Fence Farm, North Riverside is a carry out venue, even when there’s no pandemic. The fried chicken and hush puppies are excellent. The sides are very retro, but great…the beet salad is great. But the best kept secret is the fried seafood, homemade tartar and cocktail sauces. The shrimp is crunchy and juicy. The fish fillets are a solid cod or whitefish…large pieces with flaky, juicy flesh served with lemon slices. We have reduced our chicken order to get the fish dinners. The great thing is you can order just chicken, shrimp and fish. Great food, great prices, fast service. Enjoy!

I have heard from several people that the fried chicken is so good. I finally got a chance to stop in and get the half chicken dinner. The fried chicken was golden brown, juicy and tender. This is probably one the best chicken joints I’ve tried in Illinois. The only thing I didn’t care for was the gravy on the mashed potatoes. The potatoes had a weird yellow colored gravy that looked like the filling inside of a lemon pie. The Color and the texture of the gravy threw me off. The coleslaw tasted like it had vinegar in it. The next time I go, I would definitely get the chicken with fries and most definitely the fritters
