Such a great meal tonight. Meredith was our server. She did a great job. Dinner was amazing. I had the arugula salad and red snapper special. My hubby had the pork chop. We shared the apple dessert. So good

Not perfect, but definitely top shelf. Food quality was superb, although portions are on the average or small side. Avoid the scallops & fig appetizer, the scallops were mushy and drenched in a gooey sauce. The pesto fettuccine with shrimp was incredible and a food highlight of our trip. Butter pecan gelato for dessert was also excellent.

The best fine dining restaurant along the central Jersey Shore. Excellent food in a white tablecloth dining room, with professional service. It’s BYOB which makes it an even better dining option.

The food is excellent and the staff is very nice. It’s on the expensive side, but it’s totally worth it and it’s BYOB so it evens out. My one complaint is that the music doesn’t match the vibe of the place (at least it really didn’t last night…I don’t think I had the same issue last time I was there)

Whispers is an elegant byob restaurant located in the Hewitt Wellington Hotel in Spring Lake. It’s the perfect place for a romantic dinner or to celebrate a special occasion. Portions are on the small side, and that would stop me from becoming a regular. But, I’d definitely come dine here again! They start you with a fresh hot roll which was good, but I was expecting a restaurant of this caliber to have a few different kinds of bread to choose from. They also give you a complimentary tasting before your appetizer. Today’s tasting was a cucumber topped with a salmon mousse which was also good. For appetizer I had the lobster ravioli topped with a butternut squash purée which was $20. I thought it was too small of an appetizer for the price point. It was good, but I didn’t think it was excellent as it should of been. It needed more of a butternut squash flavor as it was described. My entree which was the 1.5 pound lobster over a crab cake in a wonton served over mashed potatoes was EXCELLENT! I highly recommend ordering it! For dessert I had the chocolate ganache cake which was very good, but very small! I had two rolls otherwise I would of left hungry. I don’t mind paying high prices just want to be served a bit more generous portions, and get my money’s worth. My server Taylor was wonderful! I definitely recommend dining here if your looking for that special place to celebrate a special occasion or just looking for a romantic dinner!

One of the top, best restaurants I’ve been to in the last 3-4 years…I had the filet mignon which was perfect and lobster bisque was very rich! I highly recommend..didn’t realize it was a BYOB tho…the wife really enjoyed her grilled shrimp w/pesto fettuccine!

Great place to eat up while you down some brown liquor (it’s byob). Contrary to the name, you actually *don’t* have to whisper. And the lobster doesn’t come with a shell, so you don’t have to wear those embarassing bibs or fuss around with crackers. Great experience, getting my pals and coming back next week!

This restaurant has gone down hill. Use to be great. It was a Saturday night and there were empty tables. I should have known, the food was lousy.

Made reservation 3 weeks in advance for a very special occasion. We were a party of six. When we arrived there was a delivered package at the front door . We arrived and sat for about 10-15 minutes. The server offered water (BYOB).IN case you miss it the BYOB is in small letters buried in the menu. Asked for some ice for our glasses and large glasses of ice arrived. There do not have any small glasses. They do not have seltzer and they have no sodas. We requested some bread as we were having our drinks and a half hour had passed. We wee informed that we would receive bread with dinner…some little frozen mini roll out of the microwave. They were out of a few things as well as the best selection of desserts. Main meal was good and more expensive then the posted menu on their website. The server smiled but was curt the one or two times she paid attention by the way we asked for more bread and, one person received another little microwaved specimen. For coffee they did not have cream (the hotel which is part of the establishment had plenty of creamers ..we checked as we could not believe it.
