Great tasting, freshly made, hand tossed, wood fired. Delicious pizza with lots of ingredients choices to choose from. Pick the toppling you want! Great price, super friendly staff, super clean restaurant. Indoor, or patio dining. Try it, you won’t be disappointed. And they have amazing cookies!0

Wheat’s offers brick oven pizza, sandwiches, fresh loaves of bread, and pastries. You can watch the chefs bake in the handcrafted brick oven. The patio offers a cute, comfy, Insta-worthy outdoor dining experience. The downtown building is old and charming, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the food is truly delicious. Don’t miss the coconut white chocolate chip cookies and hand pies (baked, not fried, but you’d never guess)!

Stopped here on our way west from Dallas. It is on a corner a block off of Hwy 287 that runs through town. This place was everything I was hoping for and more. They offer pizza, sandwiches and homemade bread and hand pies. You choose your topping and or sandwich toppings. We had two types of pizza. They were both super delicious, great crust! I believe the restaurant is family owned and run and you can tell by the taste of their food. The wood fire stove cooks the pizzas so fast it didn’t really slow us down on our trip. You could order about 15 minutes ahead and just pick it up. The cherry and chocolate filled hand pies were also delicious. They close at 7pm. And btw their bathrooms are the cleanest you’ll find on the road. So nice to have great food on a route that typically just offers fast food.

Make a few minutes to stop by and get a seriously great pizza straight out of the brick oven! Wheat’s also features sandwiches with scratch made crescent bread, cookies, cinnamon rolls, salads, and fresh brewed tea! Don’t miss out on supporting a family owned restaurant with elite customer service.

Saw we had a bakery in town and decided to check it out after seeing great reviews. Worth every single second and more. The owners were beyond kind and fun to talk to.

What a neat find. Fresh home made breads and to buy and take with you. Excellent sandwiches made like you want. You check the boxes! Fabulous pizzas cooked in a stone pizza oven. The owner is a very friendly guy as well as all his staff. Oh yeah. great peach tea. The plain tea was great too. I’m a tea snob and you won’t be disappointed. If you’d local or passing through definitely worth the stop here. Best dining experience in Childress and surrounding area you will find. Brought a a loaf of jalapeño cheddar bread home with us. It was made fresh same day. Menu varies daily so cal ahead to find out of special order in advance. I’ve posted menu pic

In town for work and stopped in for lunch. The chicken salad croissant sandwich was excellent. Topped that off with a delicious white chocolate coconut cookie. Don’t forget the peach tea! Ended up taking home a peach hand pie! If you are in Childress and Wheat’s is open, you should stop in. The historic building is restored and renovated beautifully.

Awesome. Words and pictures won’t do it justice. Just stop in and try it yourself. Great pizza, fantastic service, warm welcome friendly atmosphere, easy parking and access, etc. Your first visit won’t be your last visit.

Driving southeast on 287, I stopped in for an early morning coffee after seeing the welcoming “Open” sign glowing in the dawn light. I ordered coffee, and as I smelled the freshly baked scones, pastries and bread, I started picking up items to take home with me. This is a world-class bakery. The scones are glorious, and I will gladly make a 3 hour drive for the green chili cheddar bread again.
