Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn’t help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we’re still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.
Circa-1950 fast-food chain for counter-serve burgers, some stacked with multiple patties. Based on 331 reviews, the restaurant has received a rating of 4.1 stars. Price $

I’ve always used whataburger for my late night cravings, but this has got to be the worst one I’ve ever been to. I love the strawberry milkshakes but Mary B gave me vanilla, asked it about it, made a replacement with the worst attitude ever and still gave me another vanilla. Said that’s what I ordered. Double checked receipt and said strawberry

Normally my go to place for late night grub, but tonight the person working the window wasn’t my normal person. The wait is expected this late but when I get to the window to pay she said they were changing out the register and couldn’t process my transaction….no problem I’m pretty patient.

Burgers were not freshly cooked but pre-cooked and just put on bread. A huge disappointment as reason found price justified was freshly cooked and served food.

My family spent $50.00 for 4people!!!! That is highway robbery!!!! How dare your company have the guts to charge these prices for the quality of your food!!! Fries were warm but extremely dry and a terrible flavor. My daughter said, “they sure aren’t McDonald’s fries that’s for sure”!! If I were the “uppers” in the company, I’d be extremely embarrassed to hear that!! Your fries are always horrible and her spicy chicken sandwich was mediocre! The price for this combo meal is outrageous ! I’m sick of all fast food establishments charging these prices so the uppers can buy another vacation home etc. by stealing money from the middle class!!! Im sure my words have no merit, but your company can be guaranteed I’ll be your free horrible advertisement.

Long wait only a few customers there so no obvious reason for the long wait, staff not overly pleasant or helpful, stingy on sauce’s fries are cold. Not a positive experience.

This is our 2nd time at the Alexandria Louisiana location. Although the staff is still learning, there could be a little more friendly personality. And be attentive to their costumes, as in giving the wrong orders to the wrong costumers that are dining in. And if you are setting behind the half wall, you are totally forgotten about. There condiments bar was not fully stocked, and when we asked for salt packets, the girl said there is no more. But they are trying. We will be back to this location and look forward to meny more visits.

Edited review from below. My Daughter’s school had a fundraiser at this whataburger so I begrudgingly gave it another try. It’s worse now than when I posted the original review. It’s not only the worst Whataburger in America but the worst restaurant in Alexandria. Gave me a chicken sandwich instead of a burger, this is only possible with horrid management. This place should be closed. Original review: For years, I wished my hometown had a Whataburger. Unfortunately, when that wish came true, it is the absolute worst Whataburger that I’ve been in from Texas to Florida. Each time I’ve been to this Whataburger, they are supposedly shorthanded but there is always more employees standing around doing nothing than there is working. This horribly managed Whataburger has ruined me from ever wanting to go in another Whataburger in any location because I’m afraid the same management team may be running another one somewhere else. To everyone wanting to eat a burger, don’t waste 1 hour of your life and $10 of gas waiting at this Whataburger, go to the Fatburger restaurant that’s 2 minutes away. The food is just as
