Delicious BBQ Brisket Sandwich.

Not much flavor or smoke at all on any of the meats. Tried sausage, pulled pork, ribs, and brisket. Ribs were just ok. Pulled pork just awful. Soupy coleslaw. Pies are decent.

Probably the best BBQ in Southeast Texas. This place has been here a long time and should have made it in Texas Monthly’s top 50 several times. And some place up the road got picked over this one. The one up the road wasn’t nothing to brag about at that. The brisket here has always been some of the most tender and most brisket I’ve ever eaten!!! Their Pork ribs are always on point. The Smoked Chicken and Turkey are great too, always moist and tender. One of the things I’ve always wondered is how they make their BBQ Sauce! It’s some of the best. They have great sides, Potato Salad, baked beans, Pinto beans, dirty rice. Their pies are really great and some of the best I’ve ever had, Chocolate, Pecan, Coconut Creme, Lemon. Sadly, I have learned in the last week that they are closing the business at the end of the year. The price of meat, COVID, inflation, people don’t want to pay the higher prices and it’s not their fault. Will be sad to see them close

Got awesome pecan pie. Changing my comment. Picked up 3 pies for Thanksgiving. Pecan was overcooked, pumpkin had too much spice of some kind (not sure which) lemon was only so so, but coconut very good. BBQ sandwiches were awesome though. I’ll go back for the BBQ but no more pies. Had heard great things about the pies but was very disappointed. Loved the BBQ tho. 5 stars for BBQ, only 2.5 for the pies.

Got the brisket nachos… delicious!! The staff was so friendly and nice. Bathrooms were super clean too!! Always a sign of a place that cares. First time eating here but definitely not my last. I even got a couple pounds to bring home for my family.

I’ve been going to West Texas Style BBQ since I started working in the area in 1990. I no longer live near there, but if I’m close I’ll make a point to stop and eat some of the best BBQ in the world. They are the nicest people you’d ever want to meet, and the brisket and sausage plate is the best anywhere. I have eaten hundreds of plates there, and the food has been perfect every single time. Don’t forget to save room for pie.

They’ve been GREAT for the 30 something years they’ve been in business. They aim to please. I went in after work, told them my schedule…I wanted food now, was picking up Grandsons in 2 hours and their Mother would be in later….needed food for all and needed food that would still be tasty with that schedule. They asked a couple of questions, fixed me something for everyone that would last and told me how to prepare it when the others were ready to eat. FANTASTIC

SO yummy! BEST BBQ around! Good, fast service. Wish it was open later in the summer and they ran out of pie (which is the BEST in the county), but otherwise you can’t do better! Moderately priced and good selection of yummy side items. Cute signs and decor. Friendly people. Been in business many, many years – truly a staple of the community!
