Came here on a Friday night in March. Wasn’t too busy. Got seated right away. Server was there soon after and advised us it might be a little bit for our order. Appetizer came out within 10 minutes of arriving there. They have a nice area out back for the little ones. It would be really nice when it gets warmer. I had the half sandwich ‘Wavealatta’ which is a cousin to the Mufalatta. Great sandwich, just forgot to put on the hot sauce. Wife ordered the quesadilla, very good. Two of my kids ordered the pulled pork sandwich. They didn’t leave anything on the plate. The fries were awesome! Tater tots… great. Coleslaw was good, it was more of a mayo base not vinegar. Creamy and good flavors but no zing. The two guys on guitars provided great music. If we are down this way again we will definitely be back!

Great food, friendly service, relaxed island atmosphere, and a good menu with some unique items. As a tourist, I felt right at home with the many locals here.

Played trivia on Tuesday night. Had some really good bar-type food…cheese dip, fries, hamburgers, hotdogs, etc. We were the big winners!

An excellent experience, I highly suggest checking it out. Recently renovated, the owners have gone to extreme lengths to incorporate as many activities as possible for visiting customers. Some of these include a karaoke night, quiz night and Game Night, and live bands making frequent appearance throughout the week and weekend. They have a very professional and clean kitchen, well as a clean and organized full service bar. The staff on hand are extremely personable and professional, and really help shape the atmosphere. A must-visit for dining, and after hours entertainment while visiting on the island.

Great local spot equipped with food drinks and entertainment. There is a large full service bar. The food is some of the best on the island. The reason for this is the amazing chef Chuck Walters. They have everything from fresh seafood to some of the best wraps and salads. For instance this past weekend we went out for drinks and music. This night the special was prime rib and I’m not lying when I say one of the best prime rib with ojou sauce I’ve had. Now the fried shrimp and all fried items were fried perfectly with all regards to temp oil and batter. Truly perfectly fried shrimp. They offer both full bar seating, indoors table seating, and outside covered deck seating. Smoking is available outside. This place is very nice totally remodeled from the ground up. The atmosphere alone is great perfect for the whole family. Now put that with the food you will not be disappointed. The food does stop serving at 9:00 pm on weekends but party on with the bar staying open until 2 am.

Our first night on the island we went there; big mistake! Bottled beer took forever to get. Food took over 30 minutes and fried shrimp was awful and all 3 of us couldn’t even finish it. Coleslaw was sour and also tasted awful. We complained to the manager and she just made a grimace. The waitress was very nice and friendly and tried hard but all 3 of us will never go back.

Highly recommend! There’s an appetizer called ‘Bayou Twinkies’ – jalapenos stuffed with cream cheese and wrapped in bacon. So good! The atmosphere of Waves is very relaxed, perfect for the beach. The owners are wonderful people, and the service was great. Prices were average for Dauphin Island, but the food is definitely above!

Our food must’ve set for a while before it got to the table, crab claws over breaded and over cooked. Sent it back for a hot replacement, still tough and over cooked as if same crab claws were run back through the deep fryer. Did end up with a hot baked potato. Too bad they couldn’t get it right second time around. I really do love crab claws. House salad was outside leaves whole with cherry tomatoes. Not at all impressed.

DON’T GO!!!! We had 9 adult’s, 3 kids and two 1 year olds. Was told by the hostess that they couldn’t accommadate a party our size. We had to explain multiple times we didn’t need to sit at the same table or near each other. Finally a waitress came over and told us she would seat us. Took over an hour to get ONE appetizer. The last persons meal came two hours later!! We came at 1pm and it wasn’t busy. Food was mediocre. The seafood platter came out overcooked/over fried. The waitress was great, not her fault the ppl in the kitchen are slow. You’re better off packing your own meal and having a picnic somewhere. A table of two behind us also was frustrated with their wait time. Wouldn’t recommend.
