Following a yearning to bring traditional and contemporary Chinese food to Memphis, brother and sister, David Wang and Shelly Ansley, opened the doors of Wang’s Mandarin House in 1983. Using her experience in the food distributing industry and his experience in New York’s restaurant industry, Shelly and David began Wang’s Mandarin House with a rental truck full of restaurant supplies and chefs from New York’s bustling Chinatown. The influence from their mother’s home cooking that originated in her hometown in China guided David and Shelly in those first few months.
Don’t just take our word for it. Come in today and experience what Memphians have known for years. For the best Chinese food in Memphis, eat local, eat at Wang’s Mandarin House.

I got Uber eats delivery from this location. While I was eating I discovered a dead roach in my general tsos chicken. Absolutely disgusting. Will never get food from either Wang’s locations.

We were unsure about visiting due to the wildly varying reviews. I am glad we gave them a chance. Service was good, the food was good (not great, but good) and we thought the luncheon buffet had plenty to offer. As others mentioned, soup is brought to the table, a nice, hearty bowl of hot and sour soup and a very tasty won ton soup (but with only one wonton). Really enjoyed the broth. There was a great variety in my opinion. Our favorite dish was the twice cooked pork. My least favorite was the fried rice and my husband said his least favorite was the kung pao chicken. The restaurant was clean and I did not witness them trying to rush anyone. For a buffet, the egg rolls were winners. Easy parking.

This was my first visit and last! The food was cold on the buffet. There was not a variety to choose from. The atmosphere was quiet and cozy.

I ordered Chicken Lo Mien and spring rolls. The chicken was all dark meat, and I found two gristles in it. Had mushrooms and two pieces of green onion. Could not eat it.

Had the spicy cucumber appetizer and a hunan chicken meal. Asked them to spice it up and they did. They kept bringing chips and sauces at our request. Excellent! I will be back.

We found this spot on Google and it didn’t disappoint. We were driving from Tulsa to Knoxville and few places open on Christmas Day. Ordered online and picked up in less than 30 minutes. We ordered dumplings, chicken fried rice and honey glazed chicken. Staff was very welcoming. We will definitely revisit if we are ever in town.

Honestly one of the best restaurants I have ever eaten at. Fresh, cooked to order. I ordered Peking duck and she fixed it tableside for us. It was amazing. I was so full and I couldn’t stop eating. Lo mein was fresh and delicious as well. Egg rolls crispy hot and delicious.

The lady at the register was rude and the food was the most bland and unappetizing meal that I had ever eaten in years.(shrimp fried rice and peppered steak)Please save your money and go elsewhere.
