Had the pleasure of having dinner at this establishment with me coworkers last night. Service was excellent and every attention to detail was noted. The menu choices were abundant however not overwhelming. Presentation of meal along with portion sizes were impeccable. You can taste the freshness of every ingredient witching the meal. My favorite was the Alaskan halibut.

The food is always amazing here, and the service is always friendly, attentive and quick. We love coming here for an intimate dinner, often with a larger party size (over 5) and the service never misses a beat. Although we like the pre-fixe menu, we appreciate the specials, such as the lamb. If you get lucky and they have it, order it (their risotto with mushrooms is amazing as well)! I was impressed by the Walter Hansel wines, we ordered a Sauvignon Blanc that was a perfect refresher with our appetizers. For dessert, I highly recommend the crisps with some type of gelato (I assume they’re seasonal). Our last visit was a hot strawberry crisp with a smooth cold vanilla bean gelato. Absolutely perfect!

WOW it’s the best summary. The food is beyond greatness. Unique small family owned restaurant hidden in Santa Rosa. Most restaurants bring 1-2 people to wait on your table. We lost count at 4 staff members that were taking care of our table; we felt spoiled.

Absolutely amazing, I cannot recommend this place enough! Everything we tried tasted so good, the staff was friendly, helpful, and professional. We ordered oysters to start, but before they were brought out, the server brought a delicious tomato soup shot. The oysters were great and the vinaigrette that was included was a perfect compliment. Our server helped us pick a great Pinot Noir to accompany our meal. I had the heirloom tomato salad that was very tasty and my friends enjoyed the Caesar salad and creme of asparagus soup.

We had a wonderful dining experience last night! We met up with some friends in Santa Rosa since we were visiting from Los Angeles. The food and service were excellent! It was practically a fine dining experience with a casual atmosphere. The indoor dining area was a tad noisy but it did not diminish our experience. We can’t wait to visit Santa Rosa and Walter Hansel bistro on our next visit!

We used to love this place. What happened? New chef? My chicken cordon Bleu was dry and flavor-less, even with the sauce. My wife’s salad was ok. Dessert was good and large enough to share. The Sunshine coffee was excellent and served in a french press.

Our party of four dined here Nov 27. We were seated promptly, and greeted with a delightful amuse-bouche. We selected the 2016 Domaine Chante Cigale Chateauneuf-du-Pape from the expansive wine list, with which we enjoyed our soups, salads, and entrees. Service was impeccable yet inobtrusive. The relaxed and informal atmosphere invites sharing, and the general consensus was “excellent” across the board. The menu changes weekly, however, we found the confit duck gizzard salad, rack of lamb, and Warren Pear tarte tatin particularly noteworthy.

Lobster bisque!!! Never something I would normally order or care much for, but the wife wanted it so we got it and it was one of the most delicious things I have ever tasted. Will go back for that alone. We had fish and steak and both were excellent. Everything we had was wonderful and it was one of the best dinner/ date nights we have had in a long time. Will be going back to try that burger soon.
