Loved breakfast here the other morning. A short walk from our air b&b. We had various delicious items. Fresh squeezed orange juice, pumpkin chai blended drink, the lox , bagels, coffee, and breakfast sandwich. Don’t forget the cookies for later! So amazing!!!

Visited for breakfast and was very impressed. Excellent lattes. Friendly staff. The food was simple but so delicious. More like food from a bistro cooked by a real chef than a diner as I had expected. Will definitely go again if I’m ever in the area.

Well, when we walked in, the staff COULD NOT HAVE POSSIBLY looked more anoyed…..if i wasn’t with a group, I’d have apologized and left. Ordering wasn’t much more fun, either. Watching them from the dining room, i felt sorry for these poor downtrodden individuals.

I came in at 1:15 for lunch. The business hours are until 2:00. I was told they were only doing to-go orders because the cleaners were coming and they had to clear the place out. It was hot outside. I was walking. I did not have a car. I was not near my house. There was nowhere for me to take my food to eat it so I left without ordering. If it was 1:45 I may have understood but there is no excuse for this happening 45 minutes before closing.

This was the meeting location for this week’s running group, so when we finished a group of about 8-10 of us went in for coffee/breakfast. The service was welcoming and friendly and happily accommodated our group. I had a cappuccino and the Smash Walden breakfast sandwich. I don’t know if they make their own sausage or source it, but it was YUMMY! Will definitely have it again.

It’s unfortunate how a bad experience can change your perception of an establishment. I’ve only ever ordered through Uber or take out and decided go try eating in this time. I wasn’t sure how this place worked, order a s sit yourself or they come to your table, etc. we clearly looked lost, standing in front of the two young girls, no acknowledgement- hi, hello, just a minute, etc. nothing, as they were counting the tips. I finally asked if we ordered up front, she didn’t even look up and said you need to hold on. Great, we looked over the menu, even once we were ready, we still had to wait because they were discussing how they were going to short their co-worker of his/her tips. Once done, one girl was leaving, the other one (black hair, thin, wearing a necklace that said “Milagros”, spoke Spanish) just looked up at us without saying anything. Again, no hi sorry for the wait, what can I get you. Nothing. We order- carnitas torta, breakfast burrito super sized, and decided to get a pastry. None were labeled so I described which one, and she sassily says “the coffee cake??”, like it’s not obvious for someone who’s never tried coffee cake. It took everything in me to not get smart with her. Before the food came out, the black haired girl, drops off the pastry and doesn’t say anything. She brought us a biscuit looking bread. My husband took it back to ask for the correct one, i was facing the counter so I saw her facial expression when he turned, and she rolled her eyes! My husband had to talk me out of not giving her a piece of my mind. I was floored, she makes a mistake and gets frustrated with us? Food comes out. All looks good, my husband then noticed that there is no avocado, sour cream, etc. in the burrito and we paid a few extra dollars for this. He takes it back. By this point the other girl who had left had came back to make her and her family coffee and food. They were talking and the black hair girl tells her that we better tip! I wasn’t planning on tipping from the minute we had our first interaction. I don’t know what makes people think tips are a must especially with AWFUL service. This is a place, you order your food at the counter and clear your own table, and she thinks she deserves a tip for bringing out a plate while having a horrible attitude. I’m going to have to check our bank account too to make sure she didn’t add a tip to our card since she never turned the iPad for us to sign. If the food wasn’t so good, I’d never be back but I think I’ll stick to Uber eats and take out. This owner won’t lose service for some snotty teen/young adults but I hope he has a conversation with them.

Walden’s is always a tough one for me. Their food and coffee is delicious, though pricey. But we’ll happily pay a bit more for tasty, good quality food. Everything I’ve ever ordered from here has been great!! And the breakfast burrito is usually filling enough that I have half left over for lunch. It comes with a fantastic (house?) salsa too!

Amazing breakfast burrito! Good coffee! Great little find, tucked away in a strip mall off Wells Ave. So, glad I decided to try something new. I felt like going to breakfast but didn’t want a huge Black Bear Diner type breakfast. I was in the mood for a café style breakfast and I found this cute little place. Great if you just want a light to medium sized breakfast. Not too heavy. You don’t feel like you have to take a nap after you eat here lol. It’s healthy, delicious and the house drip coffee is pretty tasty. Plus there is an herb shop and a Wicca store right next to it. So I wandered over and went and bought incense and took a stroll. Great way to start a morning.

Way over priced. $15 for three pancakes is absurd. I don’t care what their reasoning is for it being that expensive it’s ridiculous. On top of that they expect a tip but you have to get your own utensils and clean up your own mess and they give you your food in a to go container even if you are eating there.
