Super early in the morning and rather than drive the mountains when I woke up, I decided to get breakfast first. I was the only customer here despite the shift change when there were three or four servers cleaning up and clearing tables. A little loud with clattering dishes and such but my breakfast was great.

It’s Waffle House! We stop here often on the way back from a weekend of cleaning trash in the mountains at Sarah’s. This time the stop wasn’t too busy, the food was a little better than normal, orders were right, and service was good. Really starting to enjoy my frequent visits to Clayton.

best waffle house with the sweetest staff – ever! need i say more about the food? store is easy to find as it’s along the highway, big parking lot, clean store. went here for 2 consecutive days while we’re in clayton… i guess we’ll be coming back tomorrow.

They only had 2 waitresses. One worked her butt off taking care of her customers (and clearing off tables for more customers). The other waitress didn’t want to work at all. We had walked in and there was only one table. It hadn’t been bused yet. The waitress said it would be a few minutes. We waited and waited until someone else got up and left. The waitress that was busting her butt cleared that table so we could sit down. She was a wonderful waitress. Food was good .

Disappointed in the service. Had to ask the server to replace cold coffee and weak Coca-Cola. Coffee came back hot; the Coke was the same as before. She didn’t give syrup with the waffles; we had to ask fornit when she finally came back our way. Nor did she top up our beverages. The place wasn’t full or very busy, so there’s no real excuse for poor service except that she probably thought we were some day visitors passing through. We weren’t. We live in Rabun and we won’t forget.

The rating is only based on this particular experience. There were only two people working. One cook and one host/server. Clearly, they were overworked on that day. The dish I ordered was the All-Star. When I was served my dish, it didn’t have the toasted bread, and the bacon was not a complete serving. The hashbrowns were slightly overcooked, but that’s okay. I like them on the crispy side. I had sunnyside eggs that had cold yolks. Due to the understaffed situation, our group did not have the nerve to ask for anything that was out of place with our meals. We were thankful to have something to eat

The service was marginal because of staffing shortage and our host was right up front with me when I walked in. The food was good as always just a little cold but they were very busy and I understand. I’m not someone who will boycott a place because of the small issues. I will go back again.
