Stone Hill’s original carriage house and horse barn once housed our hardworking horses and mules. In 1979 it was converted to our Vintage Restaurant. Since 1847, Stone Hill Winery has been a benchmark for quality. Jim and Betty Held purchased the winery in 1965 and pioneered the reawakening of Missouri’s wine industry. With hard work and determination, they restored the historic landmark you see today. Through it all, Stone Hill Winery has remained dedicated to providing superior wine, food, entertainment and hospitality. Guten appetit!

Relaxed and quiet atmosphere. Didn’t have a reservation but only had about a 15 minute wait. Went shopping for wine after lunch at the winery right next to the restaurant.

Ordered the bacon cheeseburger, Ruben & curds to go. Staff was unbelievably friendly, food came out in 10 minutes, affordable, and was the best tasting sandwiches we’ve had in a long time. Thick cut bacon, fresh tomatoes, seasoned fries. Food was out of this world. 10/10 will eat here again

Highly recommend reservations. Just a mile or 2 off of the Main Street. Great food and friendly staff. The chicken spaetzle was very good as the trio meat dish, which was very hearty. Salad was very fresh and loved the house dressing. Cool old place.

While the ambiance of the restaurant is amazing, it’s customer service makes this restaurant a 3 stars.

This was a bucket list restaurant for us. We had information that this was the best place for German cuisine in Hermann. The information was correct, as to how good the restaurant is. We started with the French onion soup. It was out of this world good. My wife had the vegetable spaetzle, she really enjoyed the dish. If she had a complaint, more mushrooms. I had the trio, which was just delightful. Jagerschnitzel, sauerbraten, and a bratwurst, red cabbage, and German potato salad. If you want a really excellent dining experience, this is the place.

Selection of German and American food. The schnitzel and pork roast were excellent – the bratwurst was OK. I had a bit of my neighbor’s ribeye steak, and it was excellent. Had the bread pudding for dessert – that was disappointing: the piece we we served was tiny for the price we paid, and the recipe left a salty taste in both of our mouths.

We ate here on a recommendation from family and were not disappointed. We had the schweineschnitzel and the German trio. Both excellent. The red cabbage was a favorite and the best I’ve ever had. We also had the caramel toffee custard apple pie and the blackberry wine. Also excellent. Definitely a place to visit again.

We had to wait for a table which was no problem, however there was tons of tables up front available yet they stuck us, a 2top in the back and up stairs (and I’m disabled) with several LARGE parties of drinking and drunk women. They were so loud I could not even hear my husband and he was sitting across the table from me!! When I tried talking to the waitress Chelsea about it, she totally disregarded me and only spoke to my husband. Very rude, and all she had to say was that she works for tips , she only gets 5% of the tips she makes every day and that she has to turn in the other 10% to Vintage and she only makes $5 an hour and blah blah blah. I listen to sad stories all day long, I don’t need to listen to any more when I am trying to eat and I don’t want to be ignored while I am talking to you. My fries were ice cold and it took forever to get fresh ones. Was not worth $100 for lunch. Chelsea needs to be retrained, staff needs to be retrained on where to sit drinking guests vs non- drinking ones. No apologies, nothing at all, And I’m the one who decides the tip honey, not my husband. So talk to me not him!!
