Starts off taking a left hand turn onto Center St. when I was supposed to go straight through light, then as I am going towards the center of Wallingford on my left I see Elvis and Vinny’s Deli. I have seen articles and these foodie Friday things on TV for years not to mention the coupons and advertisements from Vinny’s Deli never to visit until today. WOW have I been missing out. Good clue your in the right spot for subs/sandwiches is the front door showing that Vinny’s Deli has been voted Wallingford’s Best Deli every year since 2013, that streak continues they just need a bigger door to be able to show it. Inside you are immediately overwhelmed by the number of choices you have. I am somewhat a curious one so I had some questions on some of the choices, every question I had was answered by none other than Vinny and with a smile, down to earth crew. I ordered the #56 Serenity, hot roast beef with bacon and horseradish sauce sub. Roast beef so tender and slice thin enough so when you bite into the sub you don’t pull all the meat out in one bite, then the horseradish sauce hits you, wonderful sinus clearing heat (sooo good) The bread they sub was made is also very good top it off with a Vinny’s root beer and man o man what more could you ask for. My wife ordered a #59 the Paige, corned beef, bacon, swiss and spicy mustard. She said this might have been the best sub she has ever had, this sub was so loaded with corned beef she took half home and finished for dinner. I do consider myself a tough critic when it comes to construction of a sub/sandwich, no complaints here nothing but praise. We will see you again real soon Vinny, it was pleasure to go into an old school type deli and get a great sub/sandwich and service with a smile. Wallingford has your deli as a must go to establishment..

I was skeptical of anyplace that proclaims themselves the king….but I’ll be damned this was the best roast beef I’ve ever had. I had #26 roast beef, horseradish and jalapenos…..absolutely delicious. Staff was super friendly as well

Drop everything and stop by Vinny’s now!! Was THE BEST roast beef sandwich (the #54) I have ever had in my ENTIRE life!! I’m dreaming about it still- wow, wow, wow!!!! The bread is super fresh & the meat just melts in your mouth! No grizzled or fatty bites, just pure deliciousness!!! Their potato salad was tasty too, but needed a little salt. The rice pudding was excellent. Can’t wait to go back!

Amazing! I ordered the Tommy and it had so much roast beef on it, I ended up eating half and saved the other half for dinner. If anyone says Where’s the Beef… they Must go to Vinny’s! Lots of meat, Very tasty! The staff is also Wonderful! We were working in the area and now hope we will be working around there again!

I recently talked to the owner of Vinny’s and I had asked him how he makes his tuna salad…..First time I spoke to one of the workers and he said “well it’s salt and pepper ” and that’s all okay I said okay I called back and I made it that way with tongol tuna because I have access to restaurant food it’s not a big secret . I wasn’t too crazy about the owners hesitation that’s not a good sign. I went to Bethany today and there’s a great place where they serve beautiful food as well and I asked the owner too… I like their tuna too and I asked him how do you make your tuna well he told me exactly how he makes his tuna without hesitation. What the point I’m trying to get at …..is look at the other owner in Bethany knows that most people are lazy and they don’t want to cook and they’re going to go there to get their tuna so I don’t understand why Vinny’s doesn’t understand that it was a simple thing he hesitated and I don’t believe I was given the ingredients that go into his tuna salad. The King…..has a slight ego ya think!!!!

Just ordered a roster beef sub cold with horseradish sauce, and it was really terrible. I wanted to like it so much and being from wallingford I’ve always wanted to go to vinny’s. It just was really bad, the roast beef had no taste and horseradish was overpowering. Ended up giving it to my dogs
