We were hungry beach hopping on our second day in Maui. My partner and I wanted to try some authentic Hawaii street food. It was past lunch time at 3 pm and we were lucky to find this food truck place 10 minute away from our sugar beach resort where we were staying. They had a few different type of food to choose from Jamaican, barbecue, Asian fusion, and Vidad’s. I had the braised pork belly bowl and my partner had the crispy pork belly bowl from Vidads. There is a seating area at the truck park with umbrellas and plenty of chickens and roosters that roam free. They are pretty bold and would literally jump on the bench or even on top of the bench you are eating if you don’t shoo them away. And if you drop a piece they would just going to try to get it from your toe! Growing up in Bangladesh free roaming bold chicken and roosters and their domesticated pet like attitude doesn’t bother me. But it bothered my partner! This got compensated by the tasty food from Vidads. We also ordered lychee lemonade which was refreshing.

So I had just arrived in Maui and was hungry I did a little research on the food trucks and stumbled on a food truck station about 10 min from the resort. There were several trucks to choose from but some of the prices were a bit much. A variety of food to choose from Jamaican, barbecue, Asian fusion, and Vidad’s the only truck that was wisely priced. It was the only truck serving Hawaiian food fresh caught fish of the day. Well at least that was my perception. I got the Kula fish with rice and a tomato, onion and red cabbage salad with a homemade vinaigrette. She had fresh starfruit for sale so I purchased the 3 she had left, I also got the fresh made starfruit and ginger lemonade. She makes it fresh while you wait for your food. Delicious and refreshing. There is a seating area at the truck park with umbrellas and plenty of chickens and roosters that roam free. Just a heads up, you’ll see plenty . My rating on the taste and eye appeal of the food I give it a 7.8 out of 10. The fish was fresh and crispy I didn’t mind the bones as I’m used to eating fish with bones. I was hungry, and I didn’t think of the pictures until after I had already crushed a whole piece and was working on the second. Sometimes that hunger just takes over and that one track mind kicks into full gear.

The food here was just what our palates craved after eating diner food for most of the day. We suddenly craved Filipino food and came to this food truck haven for our fix. Vidad’s did not disappoint. The price was right too!

Ordered the crispy pork belly and it was extremely crispy. Almost inedible. It’s tough to bite into and almost leathery. It’s a small portion for what you pay for too. The halo halo was good though. Never had a green ube before but it tastes just like the purple one. The lady is also hard to hear when you’re talking to her. Would be nice if they had an easier way to communicate, like a call number or something so we don’t have to repeat back and forth really loud

The sweet chili chicken bowl with adobo rice is so good every time! It is my go-to for a huge amount of food at an excellent value close to home. The crab wontons, bubble tea (get the ube!) and lemonades are all excellent too. One of my very favorite Maui food trucks.

They stopped by for Mango Fest in Wailuku Food Trucks recently and my friends got to try some of their foods/snacks and it was really good! Definitely enjoyed their specialty Mango Sticky Rice Lumpia they had for that day, and I’m hoping to visit them at their location in Kihei

Ordered the kalbi ribs and it came with rice and kimchi. The kimchi was really good but the ribs were inedible. They were a jelly like texture and were so chewy and unpleasant.

Best crab Rangoon I’ve ever had, you can actually see the crab inside is fresh. Adobo fried rice and garlic noodles also very good. Quick service as well

Came here on a whim after eating at Coconut’s Fish Cafe just a few shops down. Vidad’s was located amongst other food trucks that also sell amazing food. It is however, the only one around that served shaved ice and even better…halo halo! It is also the only Filipino food truck I’ve seen. Unfortunately I already had my lunch and had enough room only for dessert and a snack. My wife and I got the halo halo with one scoop of ube ice-cream. It’s a little bit different from the halo halo I’m used to back in Queens, NY. It’s less sweet, which I actually prefer – it made it quite refreshing as opposed to getting a diabetic coma afterwards. It also had cantelope shavings, which is a nice twist to the typical preparation. With the halo halo, I got their mochi balls – they’re like the glutenous rice sesame balls that you would find in dim sum restaurants, but the size of the balls were smaller, and the dough was flakier and not as sticky. It’s a light azuki-bean flavored snack that goes nicely with the halo halo. Definitely would like to try their other dishes in the future.

The Ahi is amazing. From what I’ve ordered so far I can tell you the food is exceptional. My only issues are:
