The food is great portions for your money and the best home cooking from a restaurant I’ve had yet!!!! Everyone is very friendly and helpful as possible for a small family owned restaurant. It’s packed with people at lunch cuz the food is definitely worth waiting for. We’ve been back to eat many times and will continue to go many more.

So we are a locally owned business that has frequented this restaurant for years. We had a meeting in town and had 8 carry out meals. Three of those were the Wednesday Catfish meal. All three were inedible, definitely the worst fried fish I have ever eaten. To make it worse, when we called to let them know about this they said sorry you feel that way and hung up the phone. We will NEVER order food from this establishment ever again. Inedible food combined with an uncaring attitude. Incredibly bad, take your money elsewhere. Would be zero stars if that were an option.

I placed an order at 11:30 and was told that my order would be ready at 12:15. As I am in line waiting to pick up, I get a call at 12:18 that they ran out of what I ordered. I am highly upset that I wasted my time and gas. A call ahead of time would of been appreciated. This also shows my order wasn’t even ready.

We once ordered the Ox tails with rice and gravy. It was un-edible. The oxtail and rice was so hard, with so much cinnamon in it you just couldn’t eat it. Today (11/11/21) we tried giving them another try, and wasted $24 again. The red beans was horrible, way too much garlic powder and sugar and the chicken was fried in dirty oil. The only thing tasted a lil good was the Mac and cheese.

Friendly hospitable and cozy. Family owned I’m pretty sure, going by how they work together. I had a perfectly cooked hamburger steak ( nice sear and the perfect amount of flavor, not too fatty or lean) and smothered cabbage. The flavors pop. So many plate lunch style cafes down here over salt their entrees and use canned food) This place is a jewel. Their sausage and white beans will take you on a spiritual journey. However, Beware that it’ll be packed at the peak lunch hours and on Sundays in general because that’s when they serve BBQ!
