First off, AMAZING meatloaf! If you go, make sure you have yourself some meatloaf. Val, the owner/operator is sweet, friendly, and eager to make your visit a good one. Her attitude is such a blessing and a delight. Have I mentioned the meatloaf yet?! Good stuff!

Finally made it to Val’s and it didn’t disappoint. First, everyone was very friendly. They just installed a small salad bar. Fresh, clean and crisp. But let’s talk about the meatloaf! Amazing! I have some sides, mashed potatoes and gravy, mac and cheese, green beans, all good with the meatloaf. Then I had some fried chicken and more mac and cheese. Excellent. Everything, was served hot. Potatoes were very hot. This kind of meal would be perfect in the winter. Drinks are not part of the buffet and refills are not free, so minus there. To keep the bill down, just get water. Finally the dessert, which is included with the buffet, which tasted great. I got the Sour creme cake and it was great. It had a Pina colada taste, but that be just me. Last, I’m giving the atmosphere I’m give two stars, it was way too there. All in all, go check it out. They also serve breakfast, I’ll need to try that.

Went with a friend to try out a hidden gem in Lynchburg. Recommend you stop by-good southern comfort food, friendly staff and Val makes sure she comes out to greet you. With a smile that is genuine, it’s no wonder she has quite a following!

I was looking for some home cooked comfort food, and Val’s definitely delivered that! We went on the anniversary of my grandson’s passing, and the whole staff soothed our souls. Our server, Kim, was excellent and fast. Val was super nice, and even asked if she could hug us after finding out what day it was for us. The food was hot, and delicious. This is now one of my go-to spots now.

My phone recommended this place to me, and it was amazing. Val was amazing behind the counter and she is the chef that cooks all the food as well. There set up is not a traditional restaurant where you get a menu and order. But for the price of the food you won’t be going home hungry that’s for sure! If you ever want to expand Portsmouth VA could use a place like yours.

Found Val’s restaurant today. Wow. Love everything about it. She can cook great!! I had a smothered steak with collard greens and fried okra and bread. It spoke to my southern roots. I can’t wait to go back again. The place is cute and very clean inside. Plenty of seating. Saturday mornings she does a breakfast brunch. Val’s place is a hidden jem. So happy I found it. ❤️
