Valkyrie Coffee Roasters is a specialty coffee roastery nestled in the historic downtown area of Chester NY.
We focus on direct trade relationships with farmers to create the most sustainable coffee sourcing in the region, with strict standards and a wide variety of rare single-origin beans.
Our menu is original and strives to be unlike any other shop, with every sauce and component of the drinks made from scratch in house. Whether it’s a campfire mocha that’s smoked with locally sourced applewood chips, or a dulce de biscoff latte with homemade slow cooked dulce de leche, we have a drink for you!
We do not serve hot food items, but we do have a variety of artisan pastries and a wide selection of Vegan/GF options as well.

I go out of my way to stop by Valkyrie every time I’m in the area! Dakota & the crew really care about the drinks they make, and the cafe is so welcoming when you need somewhere to park for some coffee shop work. (You’ll laugh out loud at the WiFi password!) There is as much thought put into their drinks menu as a high end cocktail bar puts in theirs – do not skip their seasonal drinks!

What a local gem! You can tell coffee is their passion and they come up with some really interesting creations. I love trying their new seasonal drinks and they are Happy to explain anything on the menu. They are very knowledgeable! I loved my oat milk matcha latte. The challamin bun looked so good, although I didn’t have one ( I just saw another patron with it). The two baristas were also super friendly. They offered suggestions to patrons based on their stated likes and engaged with everyone with a friendly demeanor. I loved the vibe. It was a solid, good, bustling coffee shop. I’ll definitely be back!

The coffee is REALLY good, and you can tell there is a great deal of thought, care, expertise and creativity put into the roasting and drink creation. The staff is always super friendly and knowledgeable, and they always have a good stock of treats that my kids go nuts for (me too, if we’re being honest!). This is the perfect spot to work remote, meet up with friends, hold a business meeting, or cozy up with a good book. Highly recommend!

I love this place!! They have amazing coffee selections and the staff was really helpful. We got the Krumkake, it was light and creamy and perfect! Incredible coffee shop. Very welcoming vibe. We had the pleasure of chatting for an extended period of time with the owner, who really has his act together. The specialty drinks were on point, from the Coquito latte to the Biscoff cookie latte. I’d love to go back into more of their products. This is the type of place you pick up a T-shirt from.
