A must visit!! The staff was phenomenal. The family atmosphere was great, I immediately felt like I was waiting to eat at one of my relatives’ homes. I had the smothered chicken with the black-eyed peas and cabbage with a small piece of savory cornbread ( I wish the portion was a little bigger), everything was tasty.

This is the best fish I’ve ever had in my life!!! My plate never makes it through the car ride home! The food is ALWAYS fresh and CONSISTENTLY delicious!! I missed Chef Harris’s cooking so much last year! I try my hardest not to miss her fish fry Fridays!! Thank you so much Chef Harris!!!

I enjoyed my first time at Us Up North. Staff was polite and went beyond their duties. I felt at home and welcomed the moment I pulled into the parking lot. I ordered the catfish fillet and pinto beans and fries. Yes, I will be back and suggest you try it as well.

Thank you for helping me with Christmas dinner!! I ordered the purple hull peas and mustard and turnip greens. They were DELICIOUS!!! Flavorful and seasoned! I love this place!! 10 out of 10!!

Green lovers rejoice! I have eaten Chef Harris’s greens at her restaurant, and recently purchased a quart of the frozen greens. (She sells collard greens and a mustard green mix, plus purple hull peas – available frozen at Drug Emporium.) They are literally the best greens I’ve ever eaten, and I am a lifelong southerner! You owe it to yourself to try these greens and anything else that Chef Harris makes.

I just had the greens for the first time. I’d heard good things. They were so delicious. My husband and I had just them and cornbread for supper. He said it was the best fast meal ever. We’ll be keeping some on hand.

I love local eating spots. This was first time eating at Us Up North. It was Fish Fry Friday…Celebrating North Louisiana Cuisine. Upon entering the building, we were greeted by the young lady behind the counter. She was very nice. Answered any questions that we had. I ordered the special of course. It was fried catfish fillet, french fries, and hush puppies with (my choice of side) mash potatoes and gravy. The wait time wasn’t long at all. Food was delicious. The catfish was seasoned just right and not fried too hard. Ohhh, and the dessert…peach cobbler!!! Delicious as well and just the way I love it, not too many peaches and lots of crust!!! Chef Hardette came out and spoke to and with everyone that dined in.
