Had a family gathering here after our daughter’s Confirmation ceremony yesterday. Despite a delay in our original arrival time, as well as a few last-minute additions to our party, the staff at Urbano’s were exemplary in their service. We had a few VERY picky eaters in our group. Nonetheless, all our orders were fresh, delicious and promptly served, as well as a few last-minute orders to go. Chips & salsa and beverages were re-filled / topped off before any of us felt as if things were running low. Truly one of the nicest dining-out experiences we’ve ever had in Lincoln. Urbano himself really looked out for our group and made sure everyone was well taken care of. We are dedicated customers now!

I purchased Chili Verde and it was not my favorite version of the dish. It wasn’t spicy enough for me. Urbano’s is near Sun City and the restaurant regulars may not like it spicy. Before I am accused of “ageism,” please note that I am a senior myself. Additionally, the meat contained too many chunks of fat that I cared little for. My two companions did like their respective meals. In fairness to the restaurant, I am much more a fan of Southwest food rather than pure Mexican dishes.

On the plus side, the service and tortilla chips were good, and the portion sizes were adequate. The first disappointment was they didn’t serve margarita’s, only beer and wine. The second disappointment was the salsa, which had a strange taste which neither my partner nor I liked. I ordered fajitas and she ordered tamales. We both thought the food was very bland tasting, and she thought her tamales were too doughy and maybe under-cooked. I added hot sauce to mine (I ordinarily would have used salsa, but as mentioned, that would not have been a good choice) in an attempt to given it some personality. There were leftovers, which we ordinarily would have taken home, but didn’t. Maybe that best summarizes our opinion of the food.

This is my family’s go to Mexican restaurant. I’ve had many different items off the menu. I’ve never had a bad meal here. Staff is always quick and friendly. Plenty of chips and salsa when you arrive. Salsa has a nice zing to it. Drink orders are taken quickly. Orders arrive in a timely manner. Always plenty to eat or even take home.

I ordered nachos through grub hub and paid for the meal, delivery and driver fee. I specified in capital letters NO BEANS PLEASE. My order came but it was smothered in beans. I couldn’t eat it.

Nice decor, friendly, upbeat buster/food runner. That’s it for the good stuff. We were on a schedule and arrived at 12:05 – the were 2 tables occupied. We were seated and our orders taken pretty quickly. They brought the salsa and chips.- the chip basket not even half full, and we still ran out of salsa before we finished the chips. We were not offered more, the just removed the containers from our table. The food took over 20 minutes to get to the table – and both dishes (tacos, and bowl burrito were pretty tasteless. While waiting we finished our drinks, but again, were never asked if we wanted another.

It was a slow lunch. We arrived and there were 2 servers and only 2 other tables were filled. We were seated right away, and they took our drink orders. We did receive the drinks and chips with salsa quickly, too, but things took a turn from there. Several other customers started coming in as we waited to get our order in. We noticed others that just came in were getting their orders taken. Finally, our server comes to take our order. I couldn’t order the item I wanted with a simple meat change, so I ordered the Carne Asada plate. It was terrible, like chewing on shoe leather. Our server never checked on us. We paid and left
