First time at UOVO MDR and the food exceeded my expectations in every way. As an Italian – when it comes to Italian food in LA (and in general) I’m super picky and this is a place I’d be proud to take my 90yo grandmother. The Yellowtail Crudo was lite and refreshing accented perfectly with a flavorful EVOO. The pasta was fresh and cooked perfectly and the sauces were exquisite (you can try a good sampling of both with the tasting menus) Speaking of the tasting menus – they are perfect for first timers to get a sense of what UOVO is all about. (The price is per person and requires 2 people to partake – but the price is beyond reasonable.) If you ask they usually have a special “Pasta of the Day,” – when we visited it was a Tagliatelle in a truffle butter sauce with 24-month aged Parmigiano-Reggiano – which was amazing! The Arrabbiata was flavorful, but I would have loved a touch more red chili pepper for a bit extra bite. If they served bread I would have soaked up every last drop of the gravy and sent the dish back sparkling clean. We capped off our lunch with the Tiramisu which was delicious – but too delicious to want to split. I can’t wait to come back and eat through the rest of the menu. Maybe next time I’ll try the Studio City location.

My best friend and I came in late on a Monday and this place was packed, JUSTIN the host was so amazing to be able to fit us in, he knew I had a flight to catch in less than 2 hours and he did everything to accommodate us, also recommend the best lasagna ever, that just melted in our mouth. Overall amazing experience! Food was just as everyone described it, amazing and so tasty.

There was a wait about 90min for a table on a Sat night, but we walked the harbor & went to trader Joe’s to kill some time. Had a nice time during Sunset. We had the Ragu & the Carbanara w/ side of mushrooms. Wine was lovely also Montepulciano d’Abruzzo. We did ask to get take away cause of long wait but some of the dishes aren’t allowed for take out sadly cause they said it doesn’t keep well. Even though we told them we were just gonna walk to a table by the harbor & eat it within minutes. So we did wait for opening cause we really wanted to try the Carbonara which was a dish not allowed for take out, All & all was a good dinner.

Ordered the sampler platter with 3 choice of Pasta. The first dish with Truffle butter was excellent, but the 2nd and 3rd dish got smaller and saltier …Tiramisu was great.
