This is the best place to enjoy South East Asian cuisine. The chef is making everything from scratch, and the food is finger licking good, fresh, and tasty. I have worked in the past ~10 years in Singapore, and in my opinion, Uncle’s Chin’s dishes are exceeding the best culinary standards, in fact, they are even better than the original versions. Everyone must try this amazing place! Home- like atmosphere, very friendly and good people! I can describe it with three words: ‘ I ♥️ it’

Another great Malaysian restaurant in Katy, TX that serves juicy and tender Satay chicken! Grilled pork rice that comes with a fried egg is excellent especially the pork chop is honeyed and tender mixed very well with rice. The char koay teow and chicken curry are great too. This is a family run business and very busy during lunch hour, may need a wait to be seated.

Quaint, humble Eatery with kind and sweet hospitality by all team members. Couple that with the chef cooking every dish that’s ordered.

This place is incredible!! The food is so good. A truly special place. After I went I had to go back the same week. I want to try everything. The man who’s cooking really makes it feel like you’re eating out of his kitchen. And the service is also incredible. It looks like they used to be a little bit slower but they have definitely fixed that. It’s not the fastest, but it’s not slow and you’re getting homemade Malaysian cuisine.

My husband and I enjoyed our dinner here. Very welcoming and friendly. I felt the HOME cooked food here especially when hubby asked to make his food super extremely spicy. Thank you!

We found this place from Yelp since we never been we came in for the first time. The service was slow, restaurant was unorganized. It took a while for the staff to give us water and take our order. Once that was done we watch the staff and kitchen busy with changing over to dinner shift. There wasn’t a lot of customers in the dining room. They’ve cleared out before we got our food. Our food came in one dish at a time. It took about another 30-40 minutes to receive our first dish. The first was the meat skewers, they were tasty but the portion was small, they wasn’t worth $17.99. Also, they gave us the peanut sauce instead of the alternative sauce the server recommended. My husband is allergic to peanut. Our 2nd dish was their pastry dish with curry sauce. The pastry was delicious but I didn’t like their curry sauce, it was watery and spicy. Our third dish was their vegetable dish. The dish showed up without the rice. The server said she’ll bring it, 5-10 minutes I can hear that she was busy with a take out order. I finally turned to her and ask her if our rice was coming. She was very apologetic and she went to get it right away. I think the lack of delegation and experience on how to run the restaurant is what I’ve witnessed. Overall, I enjoyed the food, but I don’t think they were worth the prices. The lack of organization and how the focus was so much on the take out orders versus taking care of the dine-in customers was disappointing. Best of luck to this little cafe, hope they get their staff trained better.

For our multiple international school reunion we had Uncle Chin’s cater an entire buffet of Indonesian and Malay/Singaporean food for over 150 people. Not only did Franco and Jovia and their staff cook onsite, they worked very patiently with us before and during the event to make it all happen to perfection. The dishes included rendang, gado-gado, nasi goreng, roti canai and sate and every bite took us back to Jakarta, Singapore or Kuala Lumpur. Couldn’t have been better!
