Delicious sushi and the chef was so nice to talk to us while he was making the sushi. He stayed busy with orders the whole time but was still so friendly. I loved how finely cut the carrots were in the veggie roll. Would definitely recommend if you are visiting!

This place feels like a cozy hole in the wall with a great atmosphere! This place is owned by a lovely couple who make their sushi fresh in front of you. The restaurant is very small, only sitting about six people, but it was absolutely delicious! We would definitely visit again!

Great sushi at a great price for the area. Owners are incredibly kind and it’s such an intimate atmosphere. Be mindful that it’s just the two of them so they get backed up with orders quickly but they do an amazing job. Definitely worth the wait!

Excellent, high quality sushi. I would eat here again for sure. The fish was fresh, the rice was the correct temperature with the sesame seed mix which is my favorite, the service was excellent and and the sake was great. The restaurant van seat about 8 people, it’s very cozy, and they also sell a lot of sake, so it had a neat wine store feel to it. Bright colors combined with ample lighting helps make it a very enjoyable place to dine in.

Based on service. I order for two and both orders served on same take out container. Owners/ employees want save money on presentation and served on basic white foam take out container. Very rude old lady dump my tray on table walked away, without one word. I guess they are a custom to people buying and saying nothing in regard poor service. Well I refuse to recommend based on default belief. This is not friendly place and sushi is not that good. It’s basic just like owner/ employee.

Great experience at Umi Sushi! As other reviewers have shared, the owners are very nice. They opened this small restaurant after running a restaurant in Hampton, VA for 20 years. The sushi was delicious, drink selection was great, and the location in Yorktown is perfect. There is limited seating inside the restaurant itself (probably 8 chairs at the bar) and pretty great outdoor seating right behind the restaurant. Pricing was reasonable. And, we would return.
