This is one of my favorite places to eat on Long Island! The all-you-can-eat sushi is fantastic. The pricing is amazing – around $20 a person for all-you-can-eat during lunch and a bit higher for dinner. You order the sushi on a tablet so it is super convenient and fast. The all-you-can-eat includes all sorts of sushi, sashimi, rolls, appetizers, cooked options, and deserts. I highly recommend Umami Sushi!

Terrible service, passive agressive waitress. Too busy cleaning the restaurant at 9pm than serving the people waiting for food order. The restaurant closes at 10 but the staff is mopping the floors all around the customers by 915pm.

If you’ve never had good sushi, you’d probably think this was the best place ever. However, anyone who has ever tasted true, high quality sushi, you’re in for a disappointment. The fish itself tastes old. The rolls are bland and all finished with the same store bought sauce. Also, don’t let the pictures on their iPad fool you… some things look nothing like what’s on the screen.

Where other restaurants quality has seemed to take a downturn in recent years, Umami just keeps getting better. Sushi is always fresh and delicious, and the restaurant is clean with a nice modern decor. This is my daughter’s go-to birthday dinner every year. Awesome selection of rolls and hot food. Highly recommend!

The food was good we enjoyed the variety. Loved the ease of the iPad ordering! The staff wasn’t unfriendly, just not friendly. It was odd when we thanked them for bringing food and drinks several times and no acknowledgment by the waitresses. I think I will keep frequenting another outrageous sushi restaurant nearby. BTW. $44 with tip for each adult, in case you were wondering.

Honestly words can’t even describe how terrible the service is here because of the feelings you experience as the waiters try to rush you and get you out as soon as possible because they’re inconvenienced by you arriving an HOUR AND A HALF before they close. They stared at us to see how close we were to finishing, they told us two times that we needed to order before 10:30 even though again it was well before that time (9:40). The way the waiters treat you is wild and I will definitely never come back, not because of the food, but because of the way these people make you feel even though it is an all you can eat

Stumbled across this awesome restaurant on our way back from the Hamptons through Google reviews. Reasonably priced and excellent fresh sush, a rarity. The two brothers at the counter were pretty cool, funny, humble, and inviting! The only problem, if you like all you can eat: DO NOT!!! order the volcano roll. It will take up 95% of your stomach space, and then you have to pay the leftover surcharge, lol. The only other drawback was that they wanted to charge us extra for hot tea as it is considered a “drink.” Come on guys! But, Still worthy of 5 stars

My best friend and I been a frequent customer of Umami for at least the past year. We’ve recommended the restaurant to multiple people and make it a point to go at least once a month. While the service has never been the best, we kept coming for the food and relatively cheep prices. However after our most recent trip to Umami, we will never be returning nor will we be recommending the restaurant to any of our friends. We plan to do the exact opposite actually. Now please understand, we are not usually ones to complain, however our service and overall experience has turned us off from the location completely. Our night started off great, my best friend brought her boyfriend, and we were enjoying the night, talking, eating and encouraging him to try new things. The issue arose when the bill came. We usually don’t tip on card so we left the tip line blank, and closed our checkbooks to pay. Our waitress then came over, opened each of our check books and passive aggressively pointed to the tip line and told us “ you’re supposed to tip here, right here.” She then walked away without taking the checks with her. She then pulled another waitress aside from across the room and started pointing and laughing at us, as well as glaring at us across the room. All together the bill was well over $100 and we were very well planing on leaving a good cash tip, however after that experience we ended up leaving a much smaller tip and just wanted to get out of there as we felt extremely uncomfortable being stared down from across the room. A few minutes later another waiter came to collect our checks, to which the same two waitresses ran over to him, took the books from his hands and flipped through them, glaring at us as they realized there was nothing in there and angrily stomping away to check us out. We planned on leaving the tip on the table and as I said before, we originally were going to leave a very nice tip, but because of this rather childish behavior, we left a small tip. We then said something at the front desk about the behavior, to which we were practically rushed out the door. Because of this we decided we will no longer be frequenting customers of this place and will tell others to steer clear as well. Never in my life has a server made us feel so uncomfortable and bullied. And as if that wasn’t enough, all three of us woke up this morning with painful stomach aches and nausea. Very disappointed, will definitely never be coming back.
