I can’t remember when I had a better burger! My son got the mushrooms Swiss, which was just as good; same for the mozzarella wrap my wife chose. To go along with the food, the service was excellent If you are ever in Magdalena or just passing by I highly recommend you stop here!

Great little diner! Very clean and cool atmosphere. Food was excellent! We got the green chile cheeseburgers. Fries were crispy and delicious and the burgers were so friggin good. Everything in them was super fresh and flavorful. The menu is varied and they have beer and wine as well.

Tumbleweeds is probably the best restaurant in Socorro County, and absolutely worth visiting, whether you’re passing by on 60 on a long trip, or a local searching for good food in a friendly environment.

Food was decent, a bit on the pricey side but what do you expect for a place out in the middle of nowhere… I expected more out of spicy chicken sandwich and definitely would expect them to have some honey mustard on hand but they didn’t.

This was a breath of fresh air in New Mexico. Incredibly clean location and the staff was friendly. The food lacked a little spice, but overall was good. We tried the chicken & French toast – which was our favorite dish. The French toast was fluffy and the fruit was fresh. The kid in our group tried the mac & cheese, which was a little bland. Lastly I had the rice bowl with fried chicken and green chili. If I got it again I would go with the burger pattie because it would have added a little more flavor than the chicken. All the flavors together meshed well.

I came across the restaurant on Instagram after looking up the town of Magdalena. The owner, Osiris, was very friendly and told me to drop by the next time I visited. So, I did! She is even friendlier in person and such a sweet soul. The restaurant itself is also amazing. I love the decor and the servers were attentive. The food was also amazing. I ordered the black bean patty in a bowl with “Christmas” chilli all three times I ate there. It was that good. If you’re vegetarian, I highly recommend it. If you don’t eat eggs, be sure to let them know as it does come with one. Hands down the best diner I’ve visited in the 35 states I’ve traveled to so far. Would not hesitate to stop here again. Add it to your bucket list. ☺️

We found Tumbleweeds Diner through Harvest Host, an app that helps travelers find places to boondock. We originally had planned on staying here for the night but we ran ahead of schedule so we stopped in for lunch instead. So glad we did! Everything about this place is the absolute cutest. Not to mention the food was amazing. The chicken sandwich was perfect, juicy meat, crispy but not too thick crust, seasoned and flavored well. The burger was delicious as well and while many places underestimate the importance of a good bun, Tumbleweeds did not. What a delightful surprise this little place was!

The most DELICIOUS green chile burger I’ve ever had. The fries were so crispy, the burger meat was cooked to perfection. The owner was so wonderful, talked to us about the town and the beauty of the country side.
