I tried the Gyro. It was Ok. The seitan was over cooked to my liking. I spoke of my soy allergies and they accommodated me well. I was advised soy is in the tzatziki sauce so they put it on the side for me. I tasted it and it was ok.

Lovely fresh home made style vegan food. The seitan wings and falafel wrap were a real highlight

Awesome awesome place. Worked in the area for a week and ate all my meals here. The staff was super friendly.

It’s great to have vegan options, but I didn’t feel like some of the menu items were named correctly. Maybe my expectation of meat substitutes differs, considering the taste and textures weren’t very accurate. I definitely feel their property tax was reflected in the menu prices and portions. When non vegans think of a vegan restaurant, this is a prime example. Ultimately, I was disappointed because nothing made me say wow! I’ll definitely be back for that entree. Instead, this is type of place that just makes me want to cook at home next time instead. A little too blah for me. I am glad so many people hyped you all up though. That’s great they’re out there trying something different.

Everything was absolutely wonderful, and the presentation was amazing. Little touches like mason jars and cloth napkins make the difference. I appreciate the eco touches like the metal straw and drink stirrer. The seasonal produce added a freshness and color that elevated this meal. Everything tasted fresh and had great great texture. Our server was also wonderful, and the atmosphere was fun.

The food was awesome. I ate every crum that was on my plate. I also had the Turmeric Latte, also great. Be prepared for slow service but worth it. Will definitely visit again and again.

An excellent spot for a cozy date night featuring tasty vegan meals. You don’t have to be vegan to appreciate this menu and how they create delicious meat and dairy alternatives without compromising on flavor. Everything here is very fresh and in season. Since the last time I went years ago, it seems they’ve included more nut free options which is great to see and made it easier for my partner to find menu items they could have. We got the mango habanero seitan wings, mushroom burrito with fries , and chocolate cake. We ate every single thing. So good! Their fries are killer and we inhaled the chocolate cake. Their pickled veggies that come with the wings were delicious as well. Only thing I would advise is being patient. This is not a quick service location. Bring good company and enjoy the thrifted, cozy atmosphere.

By far the best vegan food in the Cedar Rapids and Iowa City corridor. Relaxed, comfortable ambiance with plenty of room. Great service. Seitan wings and a big salad with fries are my go-to. The mango habanero isn’t as spicy as you may expect so do try. Also dessert and their hot turmeric drink are choice. I live in Pittsburgh and travel often for work and this vegan restaurant can compete nationally for a quality vegan menu. Go. You won’t regret.

This is probably my favorite restaurant in Iowa City. You absolutely do not need to be a vegan to enjoy it. The food is always incredible and filling: this is vegan comfort food and it will absolutely satisfy a meat-lover (I took my non-vegan brother and he loved it, wanted to go back). I recommend the seitan wings. I also recommend sitting at the beautiful bar, which serves some of the best cocktails in Iowa City.
