Pretty standard diner fare just a stone’s throw from the Sunken Gardens in the heart of St. Pete. Everything came out fast and the service was excellent. My only knock was that the bread on the patty melt wasn’t very toasted and the onions weren’t caramelized. Other than that, I can see myself back here if I find myself in the area again.

Came in with my girlfriend around 3 for lunch. Staff seemed short handed but they were firing on all cylinders. Sat near the expo window and could see the cooks hustling too. Great food and great service!

Nice, clean, bright spot on a very busy street close to downtown St Petersburg. The service was above average, the food was good and the prices were competitive. The place is well kept and you can appreciate the neighborhood support. Comfortable parking behind and around. I had the two egg platter with sausage. Everything was delicious but the home fries were a bit crunchy for my taste. Good coffee, busy place… I think my server was fairly new but did the job with a smile. I’d definitely come back!

I’ve been to a few different locations, but this one has disappointed me time and time again. It’s a Wednesday morning at 10am, and they have 5-6 servers on duty with a half filled dining room… after seating ourselves it took some time to be noticed and then order. The servers seemed like they didn’t care about anyone and the woman called “Red” just rushed through every interaction. The food was ok, we sausage gravy over the biscuits was insanely peppery, and the cheese grits just weren’t like they used to be. I’ve slowly stopped returning here, and I think this will be my final time.

I was craving really good grits today. I’d been to Trip’s twice before and knew they had them. I came here alone this morning and sat at the bar area with individual seats. I just felt right at home. EVERYONE here is so nice. I wish I knew my waitress’ name so I could recognize how nice she was and how well she did as a server. I came in really tired and not in the happiest mood, but when I left I felt so much better. I love when I’m offered a second cup of coffee 🙂 Diners are just the best and Trip’s Diner is my choice.
