What a fun surprise! We’d seen this little place many times but never stopped in. We went on a Saturday around 1:00. It wasn’t busy (but there was a snowstorm going on outside…). There were three of us, including my 3 year old grandson. No one looked horrified when we brought him in so definitely family friendly. Great and attentive waitress. The food was delicious. I had the Cuban sandwich and gobbled the whole thing down. Everything was served with fresh cut fries that were perfectly seasoned. My grandson had the cinnamon roll (don’t judge, he was quiet!). My daughter, Cuban chicken sandwich. Everything was excellent and priced right. Definitely coming back for some great looking breakfast choices.

As soon as I walked in you immediately get the Michigan nice attitude. Friendly greeting as you walk in. Waitress was so friendly. Offered coffee refills without asking. Ordered monkey bread French toast which is a specialty with local syrup with sausage and the food was set up like a smiley face on the plate. Prices were so reasonable. Just over $20 for two people. Also a counter space with homemade bred for sale. And is conveniently located across from the Bayshore resort. Such a down home Cafe atmosphere. Would definitely make this a to-go stop when ever I come to Traverse City.

Traverse Bay Café was a nice surprise! They were understaffed on the day we went, but the servers remained very friendly and worked quickly to get orders out, coffees filled, etc. The food was fantastic and the portion sizes are large. I felt like I was getting my money’s worth for sure. I will be back here next time I’m in TC.

What a great local spot. We came for breakfast on a Sunday morning and they were hopping. Very cute interior and friendly staff. The interior is a bit dated/worn but clean, so it feels like that comfy sweater you like to wrap up in and just chill. Lots of art on the wall looks like local scenes at beaches and around the bay. I had the Protein Breakfast (eggs and bacon) and it was very good. The sausage was excellent. They also allowed me to get a single pancake (normally 3) and it was great! Light and fluffy, great flavor. Maybe the best pancake I’ve had in a very long time. Oh, and the prices are incredible, such a great value. Normally, we come up in August but made a short trip this weekend. So glad we found this place so we can come back again this summer.

Decent breakfast frittatas we had the veggie and the house. This is basically an omelette which is finished in the oven. The hash browns neither of us liked and they had zero seasoning. The cinnamon roll was good but over baked and dry. The coffee was strong and delicious.

Best breakfast in TC. Love that they do something original, offering Cuban coffee and Cuban bread, it’s our favorite. Front of house is exceptional, including understanding how to stage guests so that they don’t overload the kitchen. Top shelf!

Delicious home cooked food and friendly service. I always get a simple breakfast – eggs scrambled medium, bacon, toast, and side of fruit. Most times the bacon is burnt to a crisp or the eggs are any way but scrambled and medium, but this place does it right. It’s also very clean. Worth the wait too 🙂

We visited the Traverse Bay Cafe back in November, looking for a great brunch restaurant where I could have a lunch sandwich while my husband enjoyed breakfast. This place did not disappoint! Once we were seated, we were greeted to great service and wonderful food. My husband spoke highly of the coffee, as well! Once food arrived, we enjoyed all of the breakfast food, as well as a delicious sandwich and fries! We’d highly recommend this restaurant to anyone living in or visiting Traverse City! A cozy but truly fantastic gem for breakfast or brunch!
