A couple weeks ago my wife and I drove up to Trattoria Buon Gusto for dinner! It’s always worth the drive because the views are amazing, staff is super friendly, and Chef José is truly a master at creating fabulous, delicious food! We always enjoy every chance we have to visit!

Food was absolutely phenomenal!!! I had the surf and turf. My steak came out cooked perfectly, my lobster tail was cooked perfectly as well, it was soft and melted in your mouth. Everything had wonderful flavor. Will definitely be going back.

Lovely little Italian surprise located in rural Iowa. Fabulous food, but service was weak and could use some improvement. Waitress was not attentive, and little things like water and drinks were left greatly unattended to.

This will be my fourth time coming to the restaurant. Each time I have had a guest from out of town I’ve brought them to our local Italian eatery.. the seafood has always been fresh and nice visual presentation of all dishes.. one of my visits I even had a dish that’s advertised as spicy and I didn’t like the spice in the owner and chef came out and we made it for me and it was wonderful.. I feel that the prices are reasonable for the type of cuisine that received. I do encourage them to paint the tiles on the ceiling White and freshen the place up and maybe put some tape over the cut seats in the booth there’s also vinyl you can purchase it Menards or online that will fuse the cracked Booth seating together.. I am absolutely thrilled that this type of wonderfully made food is available in our small town. Please come to Ireton and enjoy great family owned Italian restaurant.

The owner and cook, Jose was amazing. He spent time chatting with us and allowed us to have “lunch” when it really should have been dinner. The food was absolutely delicious. Jose also gave us insight into other small restaurants in the area. He was spot on with his recommendations. It was a pleasure from start to finish!

I did not expect such an amazing Italian restaurant in a small tall, but I was blown away by the food. The flavors were amazing. The grilled vegetable appetizer could be a main dish, and the balsamic glaze on them was perfect. The crab ravioli special had the most amazing sauce. I will definitely be coming back when I’m in town again.

Always a positive experience here. On busy evenings expect a bit of a wait once you order. But that happens. The steaks are always seasoned well and the grill master tends to cook them longer then I would like. So I order rare when I was medium rare

This place would be perfect if they could lighten up on the salt a bit. The first time we had the lasagna, it was too salty, but we chalked it up to a one-time thing. We’ve tried the lasagna 2 more times since then, and it is so salty, it’s almost inedible. Have had similar issues with the fettuccine Alfredo and a pesto manicotti dish. I LOVE salty food, and some of their dishes are too salty even for me.
