We went to Trappers sushi for my birthday and I must say , being from a different country, we were skeptical about trying sushi here for the first time but it was the best experience ever. From the staff who showed us to our seat to Chef Q, who was absolutely amazing with making us feel at ease and making great conversations , he definitely knows what he’s doing, and the sushi was delicious. We will definitely be going back.

The Federal Way Trapper’s is my favorite location because of the high quality food they serve and the kind, hardworking staff members! Estrella, our lovely server, was awesome!

First time here. Sat at the bar, then felt crowded, talked to the waitress and moved to a seat. Took 25mins to get my food. The people that seated right before me ate and left before I received my food. I’m still unsure if the whole restaurant is a all you can eat, or just up at the bar location. But when I moved places, the menu changed.

I just came back from visiting Japan and I miss American sushi! All you can eat sushi lunch and dinner $27 daily 11am – 8:30pm (except Tuesdays for $35) ask for their happy hours menu! $10/sushi roll and discounted drinks! My personal recommendations are: Puyallup, Mt.Rainier, Vander, Bonneylake, Trump. Sushi well stuffed with goodness to the maximum level. If you have big appetite order at least 2 rolls. They have 50% off wine Wednesdays

My husband and I love this location! It’s so close to home and we were so excited when it opened and that it made it through the pandemic!! We went tonight for the Dine for a Cure event which they do every year(having family recently recovering from breast cancer makes this event hit close to home)! We got the AYCE dinner, and Andy was the one that kept making sure our sushi kept coming!! I definitely am stuffed! Alissa(Alyssa) sorry if the spelling is wrong, was our waitress and made sure our drinks were never empty and we were continually checked on! We will always be back!

We came in for dinner and didn’t realize there was an AYCE section at the sushi bar vs sitting at a regular table. I wish that was more upfront from our host if that was an option. We were able to snag a spot at the sushi bar and the chef explained how the AYCE sushi bar worked. It was worth it because our food came out looking magnificent and fresh. Keep in mind, you do have to ask for more ginger/Wasabi. The appetizers are also AYCE. The seaweed salad was definitely a go for! The fried veggies were equally delicious and refreshing. I ordered the Vader, Magnificent, Timmy, Volcano rolls. I also ordered smoked salmon and seared tune nigiri.

A tasty sushi joint! I’m always impressed with the quality of the food here. The quantity is always a little light, I don’t leave here feeling like I’ve had a full meal. I would describe it as more of a light treat. The atmosphere can be kind of cold. The service is minimal, nothing special. Nothing poor. My husband and I noticed that the tipping portion of payment is crooked. We calculated what a 10% tip would be, because we wanted to tip that amount. When we entered it into the computer system they use for payment, the 10% calculation was much higher. Like extra dollars more. If the service was excellent, I’d feel more than willing to tip heavily. But the service was mediocre at best. I found it dishonest to see the tipping services inflated. If I didn’t calculate it prior, I would not have realized this. As someone who worked in the service industry for many years, I always calculate my tips to the worth of the service.

We ordered on a Sunday night, we might be the outlier in this reveiw, but our order was quite mediocre. Ordered 4 different sushi, came to a total of 55$, we did a take out and picked it up. First was I was surprise we only had one container, all the sushi were cramped container, the picture I took (we have not even touched it). Secondly, as we were eating was confused because the sushi rice was not seasoned, it definitely tasted plain rice. Asked my husband if they were busy, admitedly he said yes, we were kind of disappointed.
