I saw the BBQ sign driving down River Rd and decided I should definitely turn around. So glad I did! The Pit Master himself greeted me as I waited and you can tell without a shadow of a doubt this man is serious about his BBQ. I ordered the rib ends with beans and Mac salad. The food was nothing short of perfect. Ribs are the bomb, beans are definitely homemade and so is Mac salad. Nothing out of a can or tub. Honest food for an honest price. If you want good BBQ, come support this local business. I will definitely be back!

I bought food on July 4th, because I wanted to be lazy and not BBQ. I had pork ribs that were excellent, and great a portion, Pork belly burnt ends. they were probably my favorite thing to eat .I felt the portion size was small. I also had pulled pork it was a bit dry, but i did get there close to closing time so it was probably the last of the pulled pork. The beans are the best beans I’ve ever had, and so is the Mac salad. I felt that I didn’t receive enough BBQ sauce with my order Overall my experience was positive and I will be going back to try more of the menu.

Experience was good. The food was great. I liked how the meat was pretty lean and did NOT get mouthfuls of fat. We got a little bit of everything so we could get the full experience. The pulled pork sandwich was very flavorful even without much barbeque sauce. This is because of the 16 hours of smoking! The Nacho Tots were also really good! Kids were super happy with the mini-corndogs and also loved the fries. Talking to the (I assume owner) was the best part. Hearing how they love to serve the community and thankful to use his God-given talent to do it. He is out there starting the smoker at 2am for the pulled pork. And when I was by there, he had started some ribs at 6AM that morning. Just the friendliest guy to talk to! And the smells down-wind from the smoker draw you in! Delicious!

BBQ at the bowling ally? I was skeptical, but the best pizza I had in LA was from a batting cage recreation center, so I went ahead and took the gamble. The meat is the kind of smokey I have only tasted from meat cooked on an actual camp fire, while camping. I can taste the wood flavor in the chicken especially. The pork belly was a little on the fatty side but its hard to care once tasted. The ribs were fall off the bone, with a dry rub and the smoked flavor really shined. Mac salad was runny but thats the traditional island style. Katsu chicken was krisp but juicy inside. The beans, great flavor, also have meat in them, just an FYI. Corn bread was on point with a cup of honey butter thats ! I don’t have a single complaint. When I had a younger GI tract I could have easily eaten a rack of those ribs, or two. Good job. Will be back. A lot.

When it comes to local barbecue you cannot do any better. The quality of the selection on offer isn’t easily equaled, much less surpassed. You’ll be glad you came.

Good food, good prices, located inside Rec Center – sign hard to find but real smokers on side of building will let you know you have come to the right place.

Who would imagine you could get delicious BBQ in a bowling alley cafe? Great team, friendly service, and tasty grub.

This place was excellent but is now permanently closed. I understand they will be reopening at another location but I do not know where that is at this time.
