My husband and I love coming here, Excellent customer service, great food and atmosphere every time we go! We always sit at the sushi bar because my husband loves to conversate with the sushi chefs and I like to watch them make the rolls. The fried calamari, vegetable and shrimp tempura, I tuna roll & nitro roll are to die for! So refreshing and delicious. Also love the smoked salmon nigiri and their pistachio fried ice cream. Their pistachio beer is good too

I really hate to write a poor review, as the food is really good- in my opinion, the best in town. I go here at least once a month. The service, too, is usually also good. However, on my most recent visit( celebrating my friend’s birthday), things did not go as smoothly. It took a while ( at least 10 minutes) to even be seated- though, this in itself is not a big deal. When we were seated, we were seated in the back of the restaurant largely out of sight, which proved to be a problem later. Our server came by and took our drink order and appetizer order. When the appetizer came, we placed our main order for two regular, uncooked rolls. Nothing complicated. We waited 30 minutes for our order. We watched another table be seated. Another 15 minutes. The table who was seated after us got their food. Our server still hadn’t checked on us once. I could see her at the back of the restaurant on her phone. No big deal, I get up and ask how our food is coming, she says “ it’s because there was a large party in front of you, and that’s why it’s taking so long” this would have checked out, except for the fact the party in front of us already had their food, and so did the table who had arrived AFTER us. No apology for the long wait either. She says she’ll check on our food in the kitchen. I sit back down and we wait another 30 minutes for our food to come. We’re not checked on again during that whole time. By the time our food finally comes, two tables had already been seated in front of us, and had their food. One had already left. We arrived at that 1:20 pm, and didn’t leave until 3:45. The restaurant wasn’t busy. Because of where we were seated, I could see what our server was up to- she spent almost the whole service on her phone. We ended missing the movie we were supposed to go see. It was fairly obvious that our server simply forgot to put in our order. Which is fine, but we never got an apology or anything. I understand that mistakes happen at work, but I would have liked at least an apology for how long it took. I would have complained then, but I didn’t want to waste any more time, or further disrupt our plans, as we were already running late enough. I visit toshiko fairly often, and we had a similar problem the last time we were here – around Christmas time, I took my mother in law here- and we had the same server. She answered a phone call WHILE taking our order. I do try to be an understanding person, and so I didn’t worry about it. I know stuff comes up sometimes. But to have it be a consistent problem 4 months later Is rather disappointing, especially when it disrupted an important meal. Overall some of the worst service I’ve received at any restaurant. I will be taking my business elsewhere from now on.

Food was excellent, we have gone there now four times over the past two months. Food has always been good. They really need to work on their service. It is a small place with maybe 12-15 tables and a bar area. They have servers working and walking around, but if it is not their table they will not ask if you need anything. We had to ask for help after sitting down the last time. I understand if its getting busy, but honestly its not that big of a place so there really should be no reason staff cannot help each other out. On our recent visit after the person sat us we had to wait over ten minutes to take our order. Food came out fairly fast, but it did not come out correct. When we told the server food was not correct he did not believe us and wanted to see a closer look of the food we go to what we ordered. It was not the correct soup, base, or noodle. We have ordered it every time prior to this. They do have potential of being 4-5 star, but need to work on service.

My food was delicious. Like really good. I got the chicken teriyaki bowl a la carte, the meat was so tender and cooked perfectly with teriyaki sauce. It was served on top of a good portion of white sticky rice.

The sides were good, I thought the rice was over cooked and a salmon tasted as if it was the fatty cut. Portions were big bites and would take 2 bites for each piece. There is no eel on the menu. Their nitro sauce does pack a small bite, which helped with the getting the large bites down. The place was clean and maintained very well. The best experience were the sides in my opinion.

The Food was not good. My roll kept falling apart and wasn’t even served straight. They just put them all in a pile. Took about 40 minutes to get our food. Way too long for a basic sushi roll. We came around 8:15pm. The server on the other hand was excellent and very attentive. We tipped him well but not because the food was good. We tipped him because his service was great!
