Tortuga y Chango – Mezcaloteca y Parilla, is our best interpretation of the intimate mezcal bars visited throughout the producing regions of Mexico. Knowledgeable staff presenting the breadth of agave distillates from palenqueros dedicated to the art of terroir distillation, paired with primarily coastal seafood dishes, prepared from family recipes and generational learning.
We are a full-service cocktail bar & grill, with limited reservation table seating and open bar seating. Our West College Avenue location between Oakhurst and downtown Decatur is intimate and welcoming, offering full service dining.

Great family dinner. Not very crowded (it was the 4th weekend) but service was great. Do not go here looking for burritos as this is way more authentic food. Myself we’re exceptional and I got more than enough bread for doing in the broth. Salads, relleno, dessert, and an exceptional Paloma- which has become my wife’s favorite drink.

This place is incredible. I’ve known about tortuga y chango they opened but didn’t have the chance to get out there until tonight and wow we’ve been missing out.

This place has to be a destination for anyone who enjoys craft cocktails and spirits. Orestes Cruz has put together a truly impressive collection of spirits in a cozy and welcoming space. The sotol and mezcal options are beyond anything I’ve ever seen, and Orestes is so knowledgeable without being overwhelming. You just have to stop here. Don’t miss this spot.

Absolutely fantastic experience. Little place on College in South Decatur, by Revolution Donuts and Ale Yeah! We ate at the back bar across from the open kitchen and had a good chat with chef Hugo. He personally sources vegetables from local farmers market to get fresh ingredients, and bases his menu on what’s available, fresh, and in season. Tortuga y chango hasThe best Mexican seafood in Atlanta to my experience. The menu is limited but there were five or six choices on the nightly specials which rotate based on availability of fresh seafood and ingredients.

What a wonderful little spot! Food was delicious (highly recommend the scallops), the cocktail were creative and well-balanced, the mezcal selection was top-notch, and the ambience was welcoming and energetic. Great customer service all the way through, and a spot we’ll definitely revisit. Perfect for something like a double date or night out with a small group of food & bev enthusiast friends.

I’m not usually so satisfied with $20 shared plates. But this place was fantastic. The scallop dish was unreal!

Good food. Enjoyed the moles. Each had a unique flavor, which I appreciated. The octopus was done well, nice and tender.

I love mezcal and had been wanting to dine here for awhile. Dined here last and sat at the bar with Marga. She was spot on with all of her suggestions, and provided 5 star service. Everything we had was great. Drinks well balanced. The scallops were the highlight of my meal. Cooked to perfection, and the corn purée was so delicious. The strawberry dessert was simple yet tasty. Treated myself to some different mezcal’s, my favorite was the el jolgorio coyote. Will definitely be back.
