I’m Chef Peter Cole. I was born in New York City with a spatula in my hand and a strong passion for the culinary arts. I am a graduate of The Culinary Institute of America with honors and I have been working as an executive chef for over 20 years. In 2016, I visited southern Utah and enjoyed hiking and the relaxing atmosphere of nature that surrounds this red rock high desert country of Wayne County. I also discovered my love of BBQ, slow smoked and chargrilled cuisine and decided to pursue my culinary passion doing what I love. I present to you – Torrey Grill & BBQ.

If you are in Torrey you must check this place out – it does not disappoint! We had tri tip and chicken (both amazing) and sides including loaded creamed corn (you should get it) plus cherry cobbler. All so good! They welcome dogs, and have a lovely fire pit in the middle of the dining area, which is enclosed.

If you like fall-off the bone type of BBQ, go here. We tried the ribs, chicken and beef and they were all amazing! The slaw is worth a try as it’s made with love and is refreshing with pineapple pieces.

This place is wonderful! The food is delicious and so original! My wife had ribs, two nights in a row, and I had the tofu teriyaki (I’m vegetarian) – both super delicious. We tried every side and they were all very good and original. The chef is super nice, comes out to personally talk to people. The fireplace and music were a nice touch for a great ambiance. It was a wonderful surprise to find this restaurant right here in our campground.

While in Torrey for week, we ate at the Torrey Grill 4 of the 7 nights. Had Ribs, Chicken, and a ribeye steak. All were excellent.

This is a MUST! This BBQ place is truly the best! We read the reviews and actually stayed at the Thousand Lakes campground because of it. The atmosphere is great. I love the outdoor feel with amenities of being indoors. It rained so hard while we dined and we stayed dry but had the feel of outdoor dining. The chef is personable, passionate and so friendly. And…he even has tofu! Everything was OUTSTANDING! The meats were tender, perfectly seasoned and nice sizes. The coleslaw tasted like a pina colada…with hints of pineapple. The mashed potatoes were the best we have ever had! And the cornbread and honeybutter were off the charts amazing!!!Please do not miss this place. It is only open certain times of the year….so plan your trip accordingly. We cannot wait to go back!

Don’t miss this fabulous restaurant in Torrey!! Absolutely delicious!! Best meal we’ve had in all of Utah. I had the grilled salmon, my husband had the beef tri tips, and both were outstanding❤️. A great price, generous portions, amazing flavors that can’t be beat. The careful preparation really shows, a personal touch, and perfectly prepared. Great selection of sauces, some of their sauces are homemade from scratch.❤️ Great menu selections, original and delicious sides. Don’t miss this restaurant! Update: we decided to eat dinner here two nights in a row, and the second night was fabulous just like the first! The chef here is so talented, a graduate of the New York Culinary Arts institute. He puts heart, soul, and talent into each meal, and loves to cook. This makes all the difference!

Wayne Myers
Great food at a high price served on tinfoil that you have to be sure you’re not eating. They ask for tips at the register when ordering but you have to bus your own table so you tip for zero service. Of the side dishes my table only really liked the mashed potatoes although the others were edible. They push their “white BBQ” sauce which is horseradish-based and not good if you’re not a big fan of horseradish…or prefer traditional BBQ.
