I enjoyed our evening at Toro. We were there for a birthday dinner and there were 8 of us. We were there on a Monday night and service was a bit slow, unsure how it is on a weekend. Everything we tasted was yummy! We liked the tacos, fried ice cream, cocktails, and chips/quac.Really like the ambiance and the garage doors that open to the outside. I also thought food was well priced for such a fun atmosphere! It’s tough to find parking around there also, so get there early!

We were excited that something was going into this long vacant space, as we live a few blocks away. We arrived promptly for our reservation and were seated quickly. We did not interact with anyone else for another 15 minutes and almost walked out. Our server, Austin, was very cheerful and took our drink and appetizer orders. Very quickly after that he took our entree orders, which arrived well before we were done with our appetizers. One of the employees tried to take our ceviche away before we were done. The mains were sitting on the table for five to ten minutes before we were ready for them. Austin returned while we were eating our mains to tell us about dessert. We told him we were still eating our entrees, but he told us that he was going to tell us about dessert anyway. My conclusions:

Writing this review a bit late, as we actually went for dinner within the first week or so of Toro opening up.

We came for the first time during Portland Nacho Week. Their nacho is delicious (though not a regular menu item) and the chicken empanadas were also great. Nice variety of cocktails. It was over 90° outside yet the restaurant remained cool inside. Nice atmosphere and comfortable seating.

We live in the area and actually stumbled upon Toro while walking to another restaurant… we had never even heard of it! The garage doors were wide open and it was very inviting. Seems like the marketing fell short because this place has been open for two months and we knew nothing about it. Our server Shyanne was incredibly knowledgeable, personable and made great recommendations on the menu. Loved the queso appetizer, pork and swordfish dishes. Excited to come back to this gem!

So happy to have Toro on the Pearl. The decor is modern and the open air space is perfect for a date night or drinks with the girls. The Mexican food and vibe are all around wonderful! The best part is that they take reservations. Salud!

I just had such a lovely experience here with Marina while sat at the bar. She is so kind and personable, it felt very natural. She recommended a lovely margarita drink called Ode with Prickly Pear that was delicious. The chuleta de cerdo entree was super yummy and a nice sized portion. Definitely coming back with my husband and would recommend for date night.

We’ve visited here twice now! Fantastic location and I love the open atmosphere patio and family friendly vibe.

Toro went into the old Tilt space and completely made it its own. The only remaining similarity between the two businesses is the shared T at the front of their names.

Finally decided to give Toro a try. I love how open it is and how it uses the patio for sitting. It’s comfortable and it’s nice to be able to enjoy a summer night. I wish Portland did this more often!
