Tried this place randomly for the first time last week. I was in Hampton for a football game and didn’t want to wait to get back to Virginia Beach to eat. The wait was fine, I thought it would take long but it didn’t.

Heard this place was good so I decided to take my family and I to try it. We assumed it was difficult to get in, but the wait was around 5 minutes. Took a decent amount of time for a server to actually come up and take our order. (Most people already had their food, and not that many others were coming in at the time.) Took around 10-20 minutes to get our order taken. Drinks were given to us then, along with our food, 15 minutes later. The food was okay. it felt like it wasn’t worth the wait, considering how long we’ve been there. The time we had gotten our food, the place wasn’t busy whatsoever. Most of us had lost our appetites because of the long wait. When we decided we wanted to leave, we had to wait 10 minutes for ANYONE to acknowledge us. Around another 10 minutes later, we finally got our check, and we’re able to leave. Price was incredibly high considering the fact that we only ordered three small meals. ($80 ♂️) If this is a concurrent thing, we will definitely not be coming back.. Hope my review helped.

Loved this place, there was a short wait, but it was so worth it. The food was delicious and service was excellent. I was debating if to come here because of some bad reviews but I’m glad my husband trusted his gut to come here. Absolutely amazing place. & they offer complimentary toast and the toast was great as well! Coffee was my favorite

First time trying out this restaurant, my dads recommendation. Overall, it’s an old school diner vibe, which I love, but the food could really be stepped up. The service was probably the best I had during my whole trip to Virginia, the waitress was over the top awesome with us. The place was packed and she didn’t miss a beat, same for the bus boy. But getting down to the food, it was just way too simple and bland. the french toast just tasted like eggs and milk. the eggs, could have used more salt and pepper. Some things were more on the safe side so the customer can add more at the table, but others were just lacking.

I love visiting locally owned restaurants such as this one! I had a great experience dining here and would recommend that anyone try this place! Most certainly a mom & pop restaurant with great food, reasonable prices, and large portions. I ordered the fried flounder with grits, wheat toast, and scrambled eggs. It was truly amazing! The staff there was very nice as well. I look forward to visiting this place again!

ABSOLUTELY NOT. This is the WORST service I have ever had at Tommy’s. I have been here PLENTY of times and never received service so disgusting. The food was cold, wrong ordered, and dirty utensils. And also .. SHOUTOUT TO Derrick, who is apparently the manager and a HORRIBLE manager. He was Rude, disrespectful, and clearly did not take the customer service course .

Moved here from Maryland, this is my first visit and it won’t be my last. The food, staff and the atmosphere is amazing. Loved how staff acknowledged birthdays and had everyone sing happy birthday. The fried trout was delicious.

We went for brunch and were promptly greeted and led to a nice table by the window. Service was great! The food was delicious; my favorite was the short stack pancakes with strawberry topping, Virginia ham, and hash browns. We will be recommending Tommy’s to everyone who asks where we ate on vacation.

Once we entered the establishment DRAMA❗️ The staff were arguing. The tables weren’t cleaned. I had to give the server the money off my table. We ordered. 1st dishes we ordered were saturated in grease. Reordered breakfast dishes instead of other meals. Trash & pure Trash. The food was horrible. I tasted straight grease on all the foods. No flavor or distinguishable difference between the eggs from the potatoes. I couldn’t eat the dishes we just paid $40.87 for. Plus it tore our stomachs up from the nibbles we did eat. We both vomited that disaster up & ended up on the toilets.
